A typeface that defined a movement, now writing its next chapter. Gotham Bold became the voice of hope and change in 2007, shaping the visual identity of the Obama for America campaign and setting a new bar for political branding. Nearly two decades later, that same spirit continues through the Obama Foundation’s evolving identity. Partnering with Manual, Monotype helped refine and extend Gotham’s voice, introducing custom variations that reflect the Foundation’s expanding mission. Created by Creative Type Director Sara Soskolne, who’s been involved in shaping Gotham’s story since 2005, each variation was redrawn with care to preserve the balance, legibility, and integrity that made Gotham iconic.
