The Midnight Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with Project Catalyst, Cardano’s community-led innovation engine, to accelerate privacy-first innovation. As part of Catalyst’s upcoming Fund15, Midnight is introducing a new Compact DApps category, supporting open-source projects that demonstrate how privacy technology can power real-world use cases. Builders are encouraged to explore privacy-enabled innovation across: 🏛️ Governance – fair, auditable, and private civic platforms 🤖 AI – privacy-first and responsible data systems 💊 Health – patient-owned data and collaborative research networks 💰 Finance – compliant, privacy-preserving DeFi 💡 Novel Concepts – new industries powered by privacy 📌 Submissions open Nov 12 – Nov 27. Projects will be reviewed in December and chosen by the Catalyst community through its proven, transparent voting process in January 2026. Two major updates are coming to Scavenger Mine, the second phase of Glacier Drop, the NIGHT token distribution: 1️⃣ Increased NIGHT Allocation In response to the extraordinary community engagement during Scavenger Mine, the total token pool is increasing from 626 million to 1 billion NIGHT. This update applies retroactively, meaning participants will see their existing allocations increase by over 50%. With 21 total days in the phase, around 47.6 million NIGHT will now be distributed daily, ensuring more tokens are in circulation for community use after the thaw period. This reallocation follows the extended Glacier Drop phase, where more participants claimed NIGHT, allowing tokens originally reserved for Lost-and-Found (now 252M) to be redirected to active participants. 2️⃣ Day 21: Browser-Only Participation To celebrate the close of Scavenger Mine, API access will be temporarily deactivated during the final 24 hours, starting at 00:00 UTC on November 19.
