About us
Hey there! 👋 We're nwPlus, a student-run tech club based at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. We're the community behind some of the largest hackathons in the Pacific Northwest, empowering thousands of hackers worldwide every year! Our annual trio of hackathons include: + nwHacks, Western Canada's largest 24-hour hackathon + HackCamp, Canada’s largest beginner-friendly hackathon (prev. UBC Local Hack Day - the largest Local Hack Day event in North America) + cmd-f, Canada’s largest hackathon celebrating underrepresented genders. We ensure that every single one of our events are free, inclusive, and accessible for everyone - regardless of your background, identity, or school. 628 hackers, 169 projects, cracked speakers from Google, Microsoft, YC, beyblade battles, and even bunny therapy?? nwHacks 2026 was incredible. Thank you, hackers, for building with us this past weekend. We loved seeing all your projects and can’t wait to be back next year. An immense thank you to every sponsor, speaker, judge, mentor, and volunteer that helped make this a reality! 🎥💻: Mackenzie Dy Dakshit Shahani
