This is SentinelOne’s Good, Bad, and Ugly cyber news roundup. ⬇️ ✅ GOOD: Former L3Harris Technologies executive faces up to a decade in jail • A former U.S. defense contractor executive pleaded guilty to selling classified cyber-exploit tools to a Russian broker, marking a major win against malicious insiders. • The tools included “at least eight sensitive and protected cyber-exploit components” meant for U.S. government and select ally use only ⚠️ BAD: Critial “Brash” vulnerability collapses Chromium everywhere • Security researchers disclosed a new exploit dubbed “Brash” that can crash Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera…) in 15-60 seconds via a single malicious URL. • The flaw allows attackers to trigger massive DOM mutations and resource exhaustion on browsers used by billions. 🤢 UGLY: Canadian hacktivists breach water & energy control systems • The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security reported multiple incidents where alleged hacktivists manipulated industrial-control systems — water pressure, oil-tank gauges, agricultural silos — across Canadian infrastructure. • Although no catastrophic damage was reported, the attacks targeted PLCs/SCADA systems and exploited internet-exposed components.
