This is the toughest things about job searching (and nobody is talking about this) It’s not just about what you know—it’s about how you present it. Most people send out dozens (or even hundreds) of applications and hear nothing back. If that’s happened to you, you’re not alone. In fact, less than 2% of applicants even get an interview. This is probably what you are doing right now ❌ Sending the same generic CV to every job – A one-size-fits-all approach won’t get you noticed. ❌ Not keeping track of the jobs you’ve applied for – Applying blindly without tracking makes it harder to follow up or refine your approach. ❌ Using buzzwords without proof – Saying you’re “results-driven” or a “team player” isn’t enough. Employers want to see real accomplishments. ❌ Not using the right keywords – If your resume doesn’t include the exact skills and job titles from the posting, it might not pass ATS screening. ❌ Focusing on responsibilities instead of impact – Employers don’t just want to know what you did; they want to know how well you did it. How do we  fix this? Thanks to  SkillSyncer, a  tool that  can help you optimize your resume and increase your chances of getting noticed. Here’s how: ✅ It scans your resume against job descriptions to show you missing skills, keywords, and experience gaps. ✅ It gives you a match score so you know how well your resume aligns with a job before applying. ✅ It helps you refine your wording to replace buzzwords with real, measurable achievements. ✅ It keeps track of your scans, so you can improve your resume over time and see what works. Moreover, you can also use the built in Job Tracker to stay organized and efficiently manage your job search. If you’re an international student or just someone who wants to change their job and you are  struggling to land interviews, don’t lose hope! I have also been there and it's hard. But you have the skills—now we just need to  make sure your resume reflects them. What’s been your biggest struggle when applying for jobs? Let me know in the comments! ♻️ Want to increase your chances of getting hired? Go get started check my comment below and use the link below to create a FREE account. Then upload your resume and your desired job role. SkillSyncer will scan both and provide actionable feedback to optimize your resume. Moreover, using MY CODE:BELEN  you can get  20% off at checkout.

Come learn the 4-step "Reverse Interviewing" method to gain trust and make interviewers like you. Without being fake. At this webinar, you'll also learn how to become an "Upsell Detective", which enables you to get job offers with the highest salaries available. Most people fail interviews because they don't understand a key point: You don't have to prove that you're able to do the job. And if you do, you'll fail the interview. Instead, just get them interested in having another conversation. Keep doing that, and you get offers (and a salary at the top of the range). Bonus: stay till the end to get my 6-step "Reverse Lottery" Job Search Guide to get more interviews faster.

This is me on paper vs. in person. When I apply for a job, everything looks polished: ✅ Tailored resume ✅ Thoughtful cover letter ✅ LinkedIn profile optimized But the reality in the interview? Sweaty palms. Overthinking every word. Trying not to sound like I rehearsed every answer (even though I definitely did). It’s funny how much effort we put into making everything look perfect on paper but the real challenge is showing up as yourself, and tackling your nerves. Interviews aren’t about being flawless. They’re about being prepared, human, and resilient enough to handle a curveball question without crumbling. Anyone else feel the same way?

You need to try this LinkedIn job search hack today! 1️⃣ : On LinkedIn, using the search functionality type your target role. Example: "project manager" (swap in whatever role you're after) AND "hiring". 2️⃣ Click posts and filter to show results from the last 24 hours. This surfaces fresh opportunities that most candidates miss. 3️⃣ Check if the post is from the hiring manager or recruiter, and send them a connection request with a short personalized note. 4️⃣ After they accept, send a quick DM. Introduce yourself, highlight one key accomplishment, and explain why you’re reaching out. 5️⃣ Ask if they’d be open to a quick chat or interview to discuss the role. This method works because you’re not waiting around. You’re moving first and making a direct connection. Most job seekers won’t take this extra step. But the ones who do often land interviews faster.

Celebrate all wins, small and large. You never know what life will bring. Some days it’s the big wins like landing the deal, launching the product, getting the offer. Other days it’s just showing up, making progress, or learning something new. Both matter. Momentum is built in the quiet moments. Confidence comes from stacking the small wins. And sometimes those small wins end up opening the biggest doors down the line. So take a moment today and recognize how far you’ve come, even if it doesn’t feel like much yet. It all counts. #KeepGoing #Mindset #Entrepreneurship #CareerGrowth

Nailing your interview answers is important, but the first and last moments of an interview can leave the strongest impression. The First 3 Minutes: Make a Strong First Impression ✅ Show confidence – Smile, make eye contact, and bring positive energy. ✅ Engage in small talk – Don’t just respond; lead the conversation to set a warm, confident tone. ✅ Answer “Tell me about yourself” the right way. Keep it focused and relevant: • 80% about your experience and skills. • 20% about how you align with their team, values, and mission. The Last 3 Minutes: Where Most Candidates Stumble This is your chance to stand out and don’t waste it. 🔹 Ask smart questions – Bring 6-7, and choose 2-3 that show you’ve done your research: • “What does success in this role look like after 90 days?” • “How does this position contribute to the company’s biggest goals?” • “What’s the leadership style here? How is feedback given?” 🔹 Close with confidence • Confirm next steps. • Thank them sincerely. • Leave a strong, lasting impression that says, I’m the right fit. Your first and last impression will make all the difference. Make them count.

The most common trap people fall into: Job searching is not a numbers game. Speak to job-seekers today, you hear the same story: ↳ Hours trawling job sites ↳ Applying to 100s of roles ↳ Copy and pasting applications The result? .........nothing. ❌ Automated rejections ❌ Zero contact ❌ No interviews Don't fall for this trap. Here is a better strategy: 1️⃣ Set A Job Criteria → Define a criteria for the roles you really want. → Aim for roles that will truly motivate you. 2️⃣ Create Clear Goals + Schedule → Set clear goals each week. Keep them achievable. → Carve out time week-to-week to maximize efficiency. 3️⃣ Measure what works → Track what actions create positive outcomes. → Then double down on the steps that get traction. 4️⃣ Enhance With Technology → Technology can help optimize and streamline your search. → AI can improve writing and help practice interviews. 💡Try SkillSyncer to tailor your resume to the job. 5️⃣ Take Breaks To Refresh → Its okay to step away and give your mind a rest. → Take breaks and reward yourself for executing. 6️⃣ Practice Interviewing → Its easy to get nervous or out of practice interviewing. → Rehearse answers, record yourself, and build confidence. Job searching is not a numbers game. Chose quality, not quantity. What tips would you share? Let me know below 👇 ♻ Repost this if it resonated with you. ✅ Follow me Alec Rickard for winning strategies and actionable advice to be promoted. Inspired by Dan Mian
