A massive thank you to Patrick Collison and John Collison for hosting me for their fireside chat to share the Speechify story at Stripe all-hands. What's always resonated with me about Patrick and John is how customer obsessed they've been since Day 1. There's the famous story of how during Y Combinator they would ask fellow founders to pull out their laptops and set up Stripe for payments right there on the spot. As they've grown to now thousands of teammates and millions of customers, that customer obsession remains. They're still hungry to know what can be improved. They invite customers to tell them what they need to work in front of the whole company. It's no surprise that in the AI era, they've remained the leader, helping support token-based business models that AI companies need to serve customers. As Speechify has evolved to serve professionals and companies in 200+ countries, paying with a wide set of currencies, Stripe has also made our global expansion as smooth as possible. We're lucky to have grown up with Stripe, to have expanded with Stripe, and to have entered the AI & now agent era with Stripe. Congrats Patrick, John, Jay Shah, Maia Josebachvili, and team for powering a staggering 1.6% of Global GDP. We're forever grateful. – Written with Speechify Voice Typing

Today, we're proud to announce that Amazon Bedrock AgentCore payments by Amazon Web Services (AWS) is integrating Privy wallets. AI agents are starting to transact, not just reason and act. That shift requires payments to be built directly into how they operate. By combining AgentCore payments with Privy's embedded wallet infrastructure, this helps developers connect to their wallets for their agents, fund them (including via Stripe onramp), and define how they can spend—all within the same environment where agents are built and run. This helps developers to develop agentic payment solutions to pay for APIs, data, and services as part of their execution, without custom billing integrations or workflow interruptions. This builds on our work with agent wallets, including delegated signing—giving developers the tools to safely put money in motion for autonomous systems. Together with the Stripe Partner Ecosystem, we're excited to work with AWS to help define how payments integrate into the agent stack. Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/ePVrm6C8

Agents that reason, plan, and act can now transact. AgentCore payments in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is now in preview. AI agents can instantly access and pay for APIs, MCP servers, web content, and other agents during execution—no bespoke billing integrations required. Built with Coinbase and Stripe, AgentCore payments handles wallet authentication, payment processing over x402, spending governance, and full observability. Payment is native to the AgentCore platform, governed by the same identity, policy engine, and controls as every other action the agent takes. https://go.aws/3R9NRf3

Today at Sessions, Stripe showed agentic commerce in action: an agent acting as both buyer and seller in the same loop. When asked how AI demand is affecting commodity prices and energy supply, the agent: • Identified that it needed grounded commodity and equity data • Found a paid Alpha Vantage dataset • Paid $0.04 for the data in stablecoins on Tempo • Generated a research report • Checked the source's terms of service to confirm redistribution rights • Listed the report for sale to other agents and humans All using Stripe Projects and stablecoins on Tempo. "Machine payments can use fiat, but for micropayments, you need stablecoins which have near-zero transaction costs, making it viable for the first time." Watch the full demo:

Why do businesses exist? For Nobel laureate Ronald Coase, it's because internal coordination is sometimes cheaper than market transactions. When it is, you hire. When it isn't, you contract. The boundary of the firm is essentially a coordination cost calculation. So what's the Coasean reading of AI? The most obvious effect in our day-to-day is that AI lowers coordination costs *inside* companies. Shared context propagates instantly. Institutional knowledge stops living only in people's heads. Coordination that used to require headcount gets absorbed into systems. Companies get more output per person, and organizations that used to need size to function can stay lean. The second is less discussed, and I think ultimately bigger: AI also collapses coordination costs *between* companies. Agents are already excellent at discovery — finding the right vendor, service, or partner. They're starting to trivialize integration. Contracting gets simpler when agents can reason over it directly. And agents can transact far more frequently, and for far smaller amounts, than humans ever could. Follow the logic and you get a different picture of the medium-term economy: more firms, each smaller, coordinating through market-like mechanisms that weren't viable before because the friction was too high. More in the article on how AI is driving business dynamism.
