🔄 Revisiting Our Insights on the Sharing Economy & Commercial EV Adoption A few months ago, our Head of Business Development, Shana Patadia, shared some powerful insights in Smart Energy International on how the sharing economy could help tackle the infrastructure challenges of commercial EV adoption. 🚚🔋 Since then, we’ve seen tremendous progress in the way fleets approach these challenges. The concept of shared charging depots and resources is becoming more central to the conversation. From cost efficiencies to operational improvements, we're seeing how software-supported solutions are driving real impact. As Shana highlighted, "Leveraging shared resources can help fleets overcome financial and logistical barriers." Curious about how this shift is unfolding? Synop is working closely with our partners to offer solutions that make the Enel X transition easier, quicker, and more affordable for customers. But most importantly - the EV charging ecosystem is evolving. EV fleets are starting to more highly value hardware flexibility and selecting the right software partner is critical. Great insights from Oliver McHugh
⌛ Starting Friday, October 11th, all EV chargers connected to the Enel X Way software platform in North America will lose their smart functionality. This situation not only highlights the challenges European energy retailers face when entering the US market in a non-retail capacity, but it also presents a significant growth opportunity for emerging EV software companies. ⚡ Over 170,000 chargers are currently managed by Enel X Way in North America. While many are located in residential garages, a substantial number are owned by fleets that will now need to seek alternative solutions. 🔎 Vertically integrated companies that control both software and hardware aspects of the value chain may show less interest (e.g. Shell / Chargepoint / BP). However, this is a prime moment for software-focused players in the growth stage to seize the opportunity. The race is on!🏎 AMPECO Wevo Energy Ampcontrol ChargeLab Synop Wood Mackenzie #EV #EVcharging #Software
