Yesterday at the Sysdig Milan office, I had the honor of being one of the panelists at our TechTalk on Women in Tech. This topic is incredibly important to me, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to such an impactful discussion 🙏🏻 Reflecting on the questions and conversations we shared, three key ideas stand out that I’d love to highlight: ❌ Tech has no gender: This is a fundamental truth. Regardless of gender, everyone should feel empowered to pursue a career in tech. 🌱 Pick the culture, not the technology: This was my advice to those starting their careers. While the technology might attract you to a company, it’s the culture that makes you stay. A supportive, inclusive environment is far more important than the specific tech a company works on. 💁♀️ Be the impact you want to see: Within great companies, there are often opportunities like Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that allow you to actively promote participation, equality, and mentorship. Don’t pass on these opportunities, especially if you’re in a position of privilege. Others may be seeking the safe space you can help create. ✨ Lastly, and most importantly: don’t let anyone dictate your agenda because of your gender. You are worthy, and so are your dreams.
