𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑵𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒔 – 𝑶𝒓 𝑵𝒐𝒕? I recently had a verbal job offer rescinded and can’t help but wonder why. After being told the role was in NYC (not my expected DC location), I asked for time to discuss with my family. While awaiting a follow-up meeting with HR, it was rescheduled three times over a week, only to hear that “headcount no longer existed.” Odd, right? Did my hesitation over location negotiation cost me the job? Or was this an internal issue? The sudden rescind feels…questionable. 𝑭𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝑨𝒓𝒆 𝑶𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍! Hey everyone, as a Talent Aquisition leader at a tech startup, I’ve been dealing with a surge of fake engineering applicants. The scam works like this: someone in other part of the world poses as a U.S.-based engineer, using a local partner’s bank account to land higher pay, and splits the earnings. It’s making candidate vetting nearly impossible. Out of 20 recent interviews, only two were genuine! I’ve now resorted to focusing solely on referrals and personally sourced candidates. This is a blow to talented engineers who aren’t great at networking or keeping their LinkedIn profiles polished. What’s Your Take? Have you experienced this issue? How do you weed out these fake applicants? 𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝑯𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒐𝒑 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒂 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: [https://lnkd.in/gdb2taUJ] #PulivarthiGroup #Recruitment #FakeApplicants #HiringChallenges #TalentAcquisition

𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑱𝒐𝒃 𝑮𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝑶𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒔 “I worked my entire career to land my dream position. After finally achieving it, the role was moved overseas, and I faced a layoff. Although I remain with the company in a different role, it’s far from my passion. As I pursue similar positions to the one I loved, I want to frame my reason for leaving in interviews without sounding bitter about my dream job being taken away. How can I best convey my career goals while staying positive and professional?” 𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝑯𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒐𝒑 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒂 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: [https://lnkd.in/gdb2taUJ] #PulivarthiGroup #CareerAdvice #JobInterviews #CareerTransition #InterviewTips

𝑾𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑷𝒖𝒔𝒉 𝑨 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕? Would you ever move a candidate forward just because the team is desperate to hire “anyone” quickly, even if you’re not entirely convinced they’re a good fit? I’m facing this exact dilemma. The hiring manager is incredibly picky and has rejected some stellar candidates. At this point, it’s tempting to send anyone breathing just to make a point, but I also value quality over speed. The pool is getting really slim! What would you do? I’m gearing up for an external executive role interview, and for the first time, I’m considering not revealing my salary expectations. Instead, I’m thinking of letting them make an offer based on what they think is appropriate. But is this strategy risky or rewarding? Has anyone pulled this off successfully and been happy with the outcome? Curious to hear any insights or experiences! 𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝑭𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝑼𝒏𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆? I’ve dedicated 10 years to my workplace, starting as a cashier and rising to manager, always trying to be empathetic, fair, and supportive to my team. After returning from maternity leave, I faced unexpected challenges. My daycare has strict rules about sick kids, and with limited support, I had to use my accumulated sick leave frequently. My new boss didn’t show much understanding, even telling me that others were speaking negatively behind my back. Since then, I’ve tried hard to avoid absences, but I still feel a shift in how people treat me. It’s tough when you’ve given your all and feel unappreciated at the place you helped grow. 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 = 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝑼𝒔𝒆𝒓 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒔 Navigating the complexities of Product Management isn’t just about solving user problems—it’s about leading through ambiguity and aligning teams, even when upper management has conflicting visions. 🧭 In a previous role, my Head of Product saw PM as purely solving user issues, but I disagreed. To me, effective PM means leading with clarity: aligning everyone on the “where,” “why,” “how,” and “when”—even when management keeps shifting direction. When leadership is absent, it falls on us to create direction. Yet, influencing without authority can feel like an uphill battle, especially if leaders resist proactive solutions. Have you had to practice self-leadership to navigate these challenges? 𝑰 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝑸𝒖𝒊𝒕 𝑴𝒚 “𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑱𝒐𝒃” 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑵𝒐 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏 𝑩 I recently left what I thought was my dream job in accounting—high pay, great benefits, and a prestigious title. But after two years, the toxic environment, micromanagement, and unrelenting 65-hour work weeks made me realize it was anything but a dream. I was so burned out that even a year-end bonus couldn’t justify staying. I’m curious: have any of you faced something similar? How did you transition to a healthier work culture, especially in accounting or finance? Are there key questions you ask in interviews to uncover the true nature of a company’s work-life balance and culture? I’m on the lookout for opportunities where I can truly thrive and use my skills, but I’d love to learn from your experiences. 𝑰’𝒎 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒚𝒛𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑭𝒆𝒂𝒓: 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝑫𝒐 𝑾𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒃 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑼𝒑? Fifteen years ago, I was homeless, fighting for a chance at a better life. I clawed my way into tech, endured setbacks like a devastating car accident, and even battled cancer. But I kept pushing forward for my family. Then, my dream job crumbled with a layoff, leaving me scrambling as the sole provider with a family depending on me. I’ve poured everything into finding a new role: over 200 tailored applications, countless interview rounds, only to face rejections. Savings are drying up, and the pressure feels suffocating. I’ve caught myself teetering on unhealthy coping mechanisms but refuse to let that define my path. To others navigating similar storms in tech layoffs or career uncertainty: how do you keep hope alive? What keeps you moving forward, even when the future seems so daunting? 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒇𝒇 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑳𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒄𝒉 Owning a family-run restaurant means balancing a warm, close-knit culture with the need for effective staff management. We’ve built loyalty by treating our team like family, but this makes it tough to enforce accountability. Serious infractions are handled swiftly, but our challenge lies in consistent follow-through on smaller issues, especially with long-time or undertrained staff. We aim to keep our supportive atmosphere while finding ways to better enforce discipline and recognize exceptional work. How do you achieve this balance in your own organization?
