The recently released Valkey 9.0 introduces a game-changing feature — atomic slot migration. It provides a faster, more reliable, and overall easier mechanism for moving data slots between nodes. Benefits include: - A simpler, one-shot command interface supporting multiple slot ranges in a single migration - Built-in cancellation support and automated rollback on failure - Improved large key handling - Up to 9x faster slot migrations - Greatly reduced client impact during migrations Dig into how it works and why it matters in the latest Valkey blog: https://lnkd.in/gqR7q6q9 #Valkey #OpenSource #LinuxFoundation

Valkey 9.0-rc3 is absurdly fast ... at making us rethink our entire fleet planning. A graviton 4 .2xl (8 cores) is no longer the sweet spot for high throughput workflows 👇 Valkey 9.0 has ridiculous acceleration on pipelining. Using just a pipeline of 4, you can drive 1.5Mhz of 500 byte items on a c8g.xl. This is a 36% improvement over Valkey 8.1.1 with the same parameters. The p99 latencies made me fall off my chair... Put your guesses in the comments (in-AZ p99 client side latencies on from a c8g.xl for 500 byte items at 1.5Mhz GETs). I will ship a Yeti Mug to whoever has the closest guess.
