Ariel Poler reacted on thisAriel Poler reacted on thisThis is our biggest regulatory milestone for the year: FDA clearance for Parkinson’s measures on our patient monitoring platform 🚀 We acquired PKG at the end of last year, with the most validated objective measures in the field. We rebuilt the product on our platform in 4 months, using the same algorithms: many pharma partners and academic researchers are using it, alongside hospitals internationally. Neurologists and clinicians in the US now also have the latest product, adding to our existing monitoring in epilepsy and sleep. Our goal is to make it the most obvious choice for Parkinson’s care, whether in trials, research or patient monitoring. We’re now closer to that goal, and only missing direct access for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers. We’ll deliver that as well, stay tuned. During my time at UT Austin, I had the privilege of spearheading the establishment of the Charmaine and Gordon McGill Center for Psychedelic Research and Therapy, led by Charles Nemeroff and Greg Fonzo -Thanks for planting the seed Tim Ferriss; the Trauma Recovery and Research Center; and coordinating the first Consciousness and Intelligence Symposium at the College of Liberal Arts taking place November 5–6, as well as the first Relational Awakening study, led by @Jose del R. Millan and Benjamin Baird. I’m incredibly grateful to the people who played an important role in my journey at UT. I want to thank Stacy Waters, MBA for hiring me in 2020, Kristin Tommey for promoting me in 2022, Amy Dunham for bringing me onto the GIFT team in 2025, and Holly Hazlett for being a wonderful supervisor over the past year. I’m not quite ready to share what’s next just yet, but I can say that something very exciting is on the horizon, so stay tuned!

Ariel Poler liked thisAriel Poler liked thisToday we're announcing $280M in Series B funding at a $2B valuation, led by our long-time investor and partner, Menlo Ventures. When we announced our Series A last May, most conversations I had about voice began with someone explaining why they doubted it. I don't have those conversations anymore. People tell me instead how much time they save talking instead of typing and what they want us to build next. In a little over a year, voice has gone from something people were questioning to something they rely on, and it happened faster than we expected. That shift is why we've raised a new round of funding. This funding represents a deeper investment in our products, lab, models, and team. Alongside the funding, we're announcing a preview of our first proprietary speech model, Canto. Canto is a 2B parameter speech model trained for the places people actually talk: loud rooms, windy streets, a toddler in the background, a second language mixed into the first. Models like this will change how we all interact with devices, and Canto is the first in a rapid line of them. Each one will be larger and more capable than the last, and each should improve Flow's dictation in a way you can feel the day it ships. Larger speech models also open the door to the vision we dreamed up 5 years ago: using your voice as the primary way you interact with devices. That still has to be invented. A voice interface people rely on all day, in every app, doesn't exist anywhere yet. It's time for that to change. I was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour) by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella. For those who are not familiar with this honor, it is one of the highest Italian awards dedicated to those who have contributed, through their work and entrepreneurial activity, to the economic and social development of the country. For me, this recognition has a special and twofold meaning. On the one hand, it represents a professional achievement that I feel I share with all the people who have built this adventure with me. On the other hand, it has a deeply family significance. My grandfather Rocco and my uncle Leopoldo had received an honors by the Italian Republic. Hearing my family's name associated with this recognition today is particularly moving for me. It's like closing a circle of service to the country that began long before me. This title doesn't belong to me alone. It belongs to everyone at Translated, whose talent, commitment, and dedication have made it possible for me to receive this honor. It belongs to my family, my friends, and our clients who have supported me in the most difficult times and accompanied me in the most rewarding ones. However, the biggest thank you goes to my wife and co-founder of Translated, Isabelle Andrieu. This recognition could have been awarded to her with the same legitimacy. She knows what this means to me, how much I care about Italy, and how important it was in my heart to complete this journey that unites work, family, and contribution to our beloved Italy. Thank you. I will try to live up to it.

Social workers today spend half their time on administrative work. This leads to social worker burnout which contributes to the nationwide shortage of social workers. It also takes away the time social workers could be spending directly with children and families. Binti AI, developed in partnership with Anthropic’s AI for Good initiative, launched in August of last year. It helps automate documentation, summarize case files, transcribe meetings, and more – with early feedback reporting as high as a 75% reduction in time spent by social workers on paperwork. Interesting developments lately around two companies in infinitas capital's and Korify Capital's portfolio, highlighting the renewed momentum in CNS and mental health therapeutics. Alto Neuroscience today announced a $120M private placement financing, providing significant capital to advance its precision psychiatry pipeline, which aims to match patients with treatments using biomarker-driven approaches. At the same time, Bloomberg (link in comments) reported that ATAI Life Sciences AG (ataiBeckley) is exploring strategic options for its lead psychedelic program BPL-003, including a potential partnership or sale that could value the asset at $2B+ as it moves into Phase 3 trials for treatment-resistant depression.
