Jim Wanserski shared thisGreat read!Jim Wanserski shared thisPrivate credit has grown into a $1.8 trillion market, but recent redemption pressures highlight structural tensions rather than systemic risk. While concerns around liquidity, AI-driven disruption, and bank linkages are valid, the asset class remains fundamentally stable. The real shift underway is toward greater selectivity, structure, and investor sophistication. Read more from Jack Ablin, CFA in this week's Market Update: https://lnkd.in/gm2DK935

Jim Wanserski shared thisEngineering for quantum resilience starts now: Han Lee "The Cisco PQC architecture is built around this principle: protect what runs (device integrity) and what flows (data in transit) with quantum-safe cryptography applied end to end. Protection begins before the operating system even loads, with Cisco Secure Boot establishing a quantum‑safe chain of trust for Cisco C9000 Smart Switches and 8000 Series Secure Routers from the moment they power on." https://lnkd.in/gdUd6_zu #Ciscopartners #ciscosecurityWhy full-stack post-quantum cryptography cannot waitWhy full-stack post-quantum cryptography cannot wait

Jim Wanserski shared thisJim Wanserski shared thisWe are squarely in the second phase of AI as we move from chatbots that intelligently answered questions for us that felt like magic, to agents that conduct tasks and jobs for us fully autonomously. Exactly three years after the ChatGPT moment where every company realized they needed a GenAI strategy, in Nov 2025 OpenClaw was born and this time every company realized they needed an Agent strategy. This week in we had the RSA Conference, one of the world’s premier cybersecurity conferences. THE topic of discussion was the acceleration of agents and how we as a security community need to keep society safe on three fronts. 1. Protect the agent from the world: as agents proliferate, they must be protected from external attacks such as prompt injection and data poisoning so that agent behavior doesn’t get manipulated into acting in ways it was never intended to. 2. Protect the world from agents: this is where necessary guardrails need to be put in place dynamically at runtime to protect agents from going rogue. 3. Detection and response at machine speed and scale: adversaries will have access to the same agents we all use. They will put hundreds of millions of agents to work against critical infrastructure. When attacks happen at machine scale and the speed of weaponization is accelerating exponentially, defenses can no longer operate at human scale. We must scrutinize every alert and every signal. For the first time, this is within reach with an Agentic SOC. Cisco is deeply committed to helping the security community address each of these challenges. Here is what we announced at RSAC this week: DefenseClaw, our open-source security framework that scans, sandboxes, and inventories agent skills and MCP servers for any OpenClaw deployment running inside NVIDIA’s OpenShell secure container. Zero Trust for Agents, extending our least-privileged access model to cover not just access control but action control, where every individual agent action gets monitored. This includes agent discovery in Identity Intelligence, agentic IAM in Duo, and MCP policy enforcement in Cisco Secure Access. AI Defense: Explorer Edition, a self-service red teaming tool that lets any developer test their AI models and applications against prompt injection, jailbreaks, and adversarial attacks before they go to production. Agent Runtime SDK, which embeds policy enforcement directly into agent workflows at build time across all major frameworks including AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, and Azure AI. The security community has always been the last line of defense. In the agentic era, that responsibility has never been greater or more consequential. The difference between delegation vs. trusted delegation of work to agents will equate to the delta between bankruptcy and market leadership. Everything Cisco announced this week is built around that conviction. Link of my keynote below in comments.

Jim Wanserski shared thisJim Wanserski shared thisEnterprise want to scale AI. Very few have the infrastructure to actually do it and that's the gap we're closing with Digital Realty. I co-authored a new piece with Johan Gustawsson exploring how we're combining Cisco's full-stack AI blueprints — AI PODs, programmable networking, end-to-end observability, and AI Defense — with Digital Realty's global data center platform and interconnection fabric to give geo-distributed enterprises a real path from AI pilot to AI production. A few things that make this partnership different: → A collaborative proving ground (DRIL) where customers can test and optimize real workloads before going live → Validated, modular designs that scale up or out as needs evolve → Distributed inference architecture that moves intelligence closer to the data The enterprises winning with AI aren't building from scratch. They're building on validated foundations with partners who've already solved the hard integration problems. Jim Wanserski liked thisJim Wanserski liked thisI’m proud to share that I’ve been promoted to Chief Technology Officer at CBTS. My engineering career path started in the Marine Corps, managing large scale systems. Ten years ago, I brought that foundation to CBTS where I’ve built our automation backbone, launching Network-as-Service and SD-WAN for global clients, and most recently leading our Anthropic Claude for Enterprise rollout to our full 2,300-person company. As Chief Technology Officer at CBTS, I will set company-wide technology priorities, guide the development of client offerings, and continue to oversee AI adoption and product management. My focus is making sure every technology decision drives our clients’ business forward. AI is the biggest shift of our generation, and shaping how CBTS and our clients use it responsibly and securely, in ways that create revenue growth, is the opportunity of a lifetime. Grateful to our CEO Kristin Russell and the leadership team for this opportunity, and to everyone who’s been part of the last 10 years. The best is still ahead. Jim Wanserski liked thisJim Wanserski liked thisI’ve had the opportunity to work very closely on the partnership between CBTS and the Cincinnati Bengals, and I couldn’t be more excited to see it become official! CBTS is now the Official Technology Provider of the Cincinnati Bengals! As a Cincinnati-based company, this partnership means a lot to us. CBTS plays such a critical role in how our customers operate, perform, and prepare for what's next by leveraging technology to accelerate their outcomes. There are so many parallels to that same commitment to excellence from the Bengals, and that made this partnership make so much sense. Iron sharpens iron! I’m proud of the work that went into bringing this partnership together and even more excited about where we can take it from here. A big moment for CBTS and a pretty great one for Cincinnati. Jim Wanserski liked thisFY 27 is going to be fantastic!Jim Wanserski liked thisBest quarter in 40+ years! It’s not every day that we get to deliver the best quarter in our 40+ year history on virtually every dimension. As we close out Q4 and wrap up Fiscal Year 2026, here are some highlights and macro trends: The accelerating adoption of agentic AI is fueling a Networking Supercycle. As customers look to manage increasing traffic and costs, they are investing in Cisco’s networking stack for inferencing across cloud, on-premise, and edge environments. At the same time, the rise of agentic AI is expanding the threat landscape driving demand for our security and observability solutions to help monitor agent behavior and mitigate evolving threats. This presents a unique opportunity for Cisco and we believe we’re only at the beginning of this supercycle. This year we fundamentally changed the game for our customers by delivering a true platform advantage with Cisco Cloud Control. Here are some of the highlights: · Record Revenue for Q4’26 and FY’26: We delivered record revenue of $63 billion for FY’26, up 12% YoY, Product revenue was up 16% yet again driven by broad based demand for our AI Infrastructure, Campus Networking, and Security portfolios. · AI Infra: We increased orders by 4.5x bringing the full year to $9.3B. Furthermore, we achieved three new design wins bringing our scale-across P200 to three Hyperscalers. · Datacenter Networking: Record Q4 orders grew more than 35% YoY. A leading US global bank placed an order for 1,000 Cisco data center smart switches, replacing a major networking competitor and a major firewall competitor, transitioning to a secure networking architecture which only Cisco can provide. · Acacia: We delivered another quarter over $1B in orders and to date have shipped over 805,000 400G and over 75,000 800G coherent pluggable optics. · Workplace Networking: Record Q4 orders, up 20% YoY with strength across the portfolio. This business is experiencing multiple tailwinds such as a portfolio refresh, Mythos related upgrades of infrastructure, agentic volumes demanding more network bandwidth, and a common control plane with Cisco Cloud Control. · Security: The entire security portfolio, including Splunk, saw double-digit order growth in Q4. We continued to see traction across our firewalls to our secure access products along with ramping our other new products such as Hypershield and AI Defense. I want to thank our partners without whom Cisco would not be the company that it is. I want to thank our customers for always betting on Cisco. Last but not the least, I want to thank every Cisco employee for never giving up and showing the market truly what’s possible. I am so proud of every one of you. Looking ahead we are in the early stages of the Networking Supercycle and Cisco’s technology has the deep and broad relevance for every AI deployment. Our innovation is delivering value to our customers, and we are not slowing down… we’re just getting started!
