Jon Hay reposted thisOur industry is at an inflection point. For the first time, mortgage lenders have a way to evaluate creditworthiness that looks beyond traditional credit data and incorporates positive rental payment history and other information that gives a fuller, more robust picture of a person’s financial health. Lenders have a significant opportunity to drive real change across the housing market. The Federal Housing Finance Agency’s milestone approval of modern credit scoring models, like VantageScore® 4.0, for mortgage lending, is enabling lenders to connectmillions of additional qualified consumers to their dream of homeownership. And consumers are ready to embrace this change. In fact, they expect lenders to use modern credit scoring models that incorporate more complete financial data to better assess their readiness for homeownership. The latest research from Experian highlights just how strongly consumers support this evolution — and what it could mean for their decisions as they pursue the path to homeownership. Check the comments for the full study and click through below to explore some key findings

Jon Hay shared thisI had the privilege to cross paths with Scott during my time at Nielsen. His fresh perspectives helped guide and move ideas forward. To no surprise, his view on thought leadership cuts through the noise and should be the true north for all of us.Jon Hay shared thisIn the same way I refuse to believe absolutely everybody was kung fu fighting, I also refuse to believe that everybody who says they are “doing thought leadership” is actually doing it. Most of the time, the “thought leadership” turns out to be a new deck. Sometimes it is a blog post stating what the reader already knew before the kettle boiled. The hint sits in the words. Thought. Leadership. Thought means you had one. A real one; an idea nobody briefed you on, that the data backs up once you go looking. Leadership means you went first and said the thing before the rest of the room agreed it was safe to say. Thought leadership leads a conversation; it doesn’t slide into one already running. So here is the test if you’re playing along at home: if your big idea fits inside what your audience believes on a Monday, you've written a memo. Possibly a fine memo. Just not thought leadership. What I love is when an idea is allowed to challenge and poke at the consensus and wait to see who flinches. I also love it when nobody feels the need to wrap it in corporate cant before they're even brave enough to call it thought leadership. The good stuff says what it means, and trusts the reader to keep up. Just as not everybody was kung fu fighting, most are not leading thought. That doesn’t mean it’s bad content, it just undermines the definition of actual thought leadership. Finding a client willing to say the thing before it's safe can be a rare thing. I'm lucky enough to have a few. BTW, I know it’s bugging you — it was released in 1974.

Jon Hay reposted thisJon Hay reposted thisWith FHFA and FHA support for VantageScore 4.0 in mortgage origination, lenders and industry stakeholders are now faced with a critical question: What does this mean for risk, performance, and opportunity? Answering that requires more than theory; it requires data. Experian is actively supporting the industry with the tools needed to evaluate impact in real-world conditions. Through our Ascend Platform and Mortgage Loan Performance dataset, organizations can: • Analyze nationwide mortgage performance across loan, consumer, and property attributes • Measure VantageScore 4.0 performance against incumbent models • Assess loss risk, prepayment behavior, and credit migration trends • Support credit policy, investor analysis, and stakeholder discussions with explainable analytics As the market accelerates adoption of VantageScore 4.0, the ability to test, validate, and act quickly will matter most. Experian is ready today. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gQEUKqme #ExperianHousing #Mortgage #VantageScore #FHFA #FHA

Hillary Ake of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital's Shepherd's Kitchen shared insights on improving gut health, and I met some wonderful women doing business in and around Barrington. Launching a business has given me a whole new reason to get involved locally. I’m enjoying getting to know the people and businesses in the community. Lisa, Paulette, Candy and Maya, it was so nice chatting with you! Thanks to the Chamber for a lovely event! #barringtonIL #womeninbusiness #smallbusiness #barringtonbusiness #mobilenotary

Jon Hay liked thisJon Hay liked thisMy conversation with Troy Hupp from Experian Employer Services was a good reminder that some of the most important employee experiences happen far outside the workplace. A verification request might be tied to buying a home, renting an apartment, refinancing a loan, or accessing benefits. For the employer, it may look like a process. For the employee, it can be part of a major life moment. HR technology is often discussed in terms of efficiency, but conversations like this are a reminder that the real measure is how well our systems support people when they need them most. https://lnkd.in/gF3wvizm #EmployeeExperience #HRTechnology #EmployeeTrust #SHRM2026 #H3HR

Stressful at best and complicated at worst. 👋 Say hello to our Events Hub: Ordering, event labeling, shipping, tracking, cost summaries, returns, plus a beautiful bird’s-eye calendar view of every event you're working. All in one dashboard! It’s all the things an Events Hub should be, and an amazing evolution from our initial event sending module - directly from customer feedback. Very excited this one is finally here (I know Danielle Falzone is, too!). 🙌 📦 And of course, a big shoutout to the magic makers behind Events Hub at our SFC who make it all actually happen. The real heros behind the scenes, packing, shipping, and keeping all of those event logistics moving. 🧡

Jon Hay liked thisWhat if the biggest opportunity for mortgage lenders isn’t just reaching more qualified borrowers — but reaching those who don’t believe they qualify? Recent Experian Housing research found more than one-third of (34%) of consumers have delayed exploring homeownership because they assumed their credit history or credit score would disqualify them. Consumers are taking themselves out of the process before even exploring their options. Lenders have always understood the value of building relationships with prospective borrowers before they’re deep into the mortgage process. There’s an opportunity here for our industry to engage prospective homebuyers earlier in the journey, and to help them understand they’re closer to homeownership than they think. I recently joined Chrisman Commentary’s Daily Mortgage News podcast to talk about Experian’s latest research on prospective homebuyers, the industry’s transition to modern credit scoring and the opportunities opening up for both lenders and consumers with access to a more complete picture of consumers’ financial lives. Thank you for having me, Rob Chrisman Listen to our full conversation here: https://lnkd.in/gcviNDVb

Jon Hay liked thisJon Hay liked thisLast week in Chicago was an incredible experience with our leader team. Brent LaBathe provided intentional, strategic content that carried us throughout the week and challenged us to think bigger about how we lead. Our teammates Hope Manning, Lisa Wray, Tanner Hoffman, Carolina Turner, MBA, and Chris Kiklas elevated every session as we strengthened how we work together across the organization. Rod Johnson also took the time to meet and collaborate with us, further demonstrating UKG’s commitment to empowering every level of our workforce to support our raving fans. A special thank you to our friends and partners at G-P for hosting us at the Chicago Cubs game. Michael Crumley, John Pohl, and Jerry Kelly are three of the best partners we could ask for. We are grateful for the relationship, collaboration, and friendship. I also want to recognize the leaders who push themselves every day, not only to lead their teams, but to continually challenge how we operate and identify where we can level up. Matt O'Connell, Joe Connor, Jeff Abraham, Nick Joseph, Drue Pavageau, and Cameron Phillips have helped create something truly special in the East, and I can never thank them enough. You all are truly the best! Finally, I can never express enough gratitude for my counterparts, Lisa DeCristofaro and Scott Nelson. I cannot imagine navigating the day to day without being in lockstep with both of them, and I appreciate their partnership so much. Proud of this team and excited for what we will continue building together!
