But that’s not how a billion people are going to decide if AI matters. They’re going to decide it matters when it gives them time back. When Sunday night isn’t spent doing expense reports. When a five-step approval becomes one step. When a doctor catches a disease earlier. When a kid anywhere in the world gets access to a great teacher. When healthcare gets better and more affordable. Kevin Scott put it this way: “A.I. is one of the most powerful things humans have ever invented for improving the quality of life of everyone, but it will take time. It should take time. We've always tackled super-challenging problems through technology. And so, we can either tell ourselves a good story about the future or a bad story about the future, and, whichever one we choose, that's probably the one that'll come true.” The question is what we choose to do with it. I think the best companies start with a vision: What is the world we want this technology to help create? Then work backwards... Build toward that vision AND put the safeguards in place to do it responsibly. The answer isn’t to start from fear, or to ignore the risks. It’s to be clear about the future we want, and build toward it with safeguards from the start. This is a time for real leadership. Technical brilliance matters enormously. But so do judgment, experience, empathy, and an understanding of how businesses and institutions actually work, and how change actually lands on people. The technology isn’t going to decide what kind of future we build with it. We will.

I’ve spent a lot of my career thinking about what it takes for a business to be more than just secure, but to be worthy of trust. More than ever, people need to trust the technology they depend on. A big part of what brought me to HubSpot is the opportunity to work with a team that shares that vision and a company that wants that vision to be part of how we help organizations grow with AI. The promise of AI and agents doing work on businesses’ behalf comes with a pretty big leap of faith today. Especially when that work involves their customers, their data, and their reputation. HubSpot has always been about solving for the customer. In the AI era, that means doubling down on the work to earn their trust so they can unlock value and grow their businesses without being asked to take a leap at all. We’ll keep strengthening how we earn that trust through how we operate, what we ship, and how we build. And customers should be able to see it in what we deliver. That’s the job, and it brings together a lot of the things I care about: security, privacy, safety, and helping people feel confident using technology to build their businesses. I’m excited to be here. Let’s get to work.

A special thank you to Raghu Hiremagalur and Renu Tewari for getting me “In” in the first place, and for giving me the opportunity to take on ambitious problems and build things that mattered. And a huge shoutout to Sandeep Singhal, the best manager, mentor, and friend I could have asked for. I’ve learned so much from you, and I’m especially grateful for all the support, trust, and friendship along the way. To all the incredible engineers I had the privilege of working with, thank you for making me feel so loved and supported, even through all the reviews, pushes for faster execution, debates, and disagreements that came with taking on challenging projects. 😄 There’s a special kind of camaraderie that comes from being in the trenches together, and I’m incredibly grateful for all of you and everything we built together. Resigning from Meta was a hard decision but since I had been thinking this over for several months, it made it feel less real and in some ways easier. I was insanely lucky to spend my time at Meta working with exceptional teams on some of the most critical and pivotal bets for the company. Building the company’s first commerce and payment platform, first-party ads solutions during the tumultuous Apple ATT period, various bets at the Meta Superintelligence Labs including Media and the Meta AI launch with Muse Spark and diving into our investments in Health AI. Working on ‘company priority projects’ as they are called at Meta for ten years is demanding but pushes you in ways you could not imagine you were capable of. I look back with so much love and gratitude for the trust the company leaders and my teams placed in me. It’s been such an honor and privilege to have had an opportunity to work with and learn from some of the absolute best talent in the industry. Even while mulling over this decision, I was surrounded by the wisdom from the extensive Meta alum network, leaders who have gone on to do wonderful things in life - all of them just a phone call or WhatsApp away. Thank you! I never had a reason to look up and around, but there comes a time in your life and career when a personal calling becomes a huge pull. For me, that is contributing to the future of health tech - a personal mission that started 3 years ago because of a few lived experiences that sent me down a rabbit hole. Over the past few months, I started scratching this itch by bringing together teams across our SuperIntelligence Labs and Wearables for our investments in health AI. I am proud of our progress here and excited for upcoming launches in this space. I am leaving Meta so that I can explore this more deeply and make it my next chapter. So the first time I saw 'Diskless Kafka' advertised at a conference I was suspicious. My mind went straight to 'Serverless' Compute... which despite the name seemed to require a whole lot of servers. Yes, I know, just not ones you manage yourself. But still. Well I've finally dug into 'Diskless' Kafka and it's actually well named! The brokers genuinely offload storage to object stores like S3, which changes the economics and operational overhead pretty dramatically. This article by Abhay Soni lays out the basics clearly with a nice comparison chart to boot. What catches my eye: tiered storage isn't just a cost play. This blog is useful because it focuses on the parts that actually decide whether cross-region recovery works on OKE: pairing DR Protection Groups across regions, keeping the standby cluster aligned with the primary, backing up only the application namespaces you intend to recover, replicating images through OCIR, and protecting PVC-backed data with Block Volume Group backups copied to the standby region. OCI Full Stack Disaster Recovery then orchestrates the failover, switchover, and drill workflow instead of leaving teams to stitch together manual runbooks. It treats DR as an operational system, not a document. The post explicitly calls out node pool parity, matching add-ons and Helm-installed components, namespace allow-lists, load balancer and node pool mapping, and the need to run Plan Refresh and Plan Verify before a drill or live event. That is the real work in Kubernetes DR. An older Java project I use just did something I wish more mature OSS projects did: it added a public Testcontainers-based compatibility suite. Scriptella now runs against real PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle Free, and Microsoft SQL Server instances in CI. Those aren't the only databases it supports. They're the ones with deliberately maintained real-database test coverage, with the matrix and methodology documented publicly. For a project that still does a very specific job well, this is exactly the kind of maintenance investment I like to see.
