Day 5: Bloggios Authentication Configuration JAR A Secure Foundation for Our Microservices Greetings, community! 👋 As we continue our journey in open-source development, I’m thrilled to share a significant milestone: the creation of our Authentication Configuration JAR. This specialized dependency is purpose-built for Bloggios, focusing primarily on authentication and Spring Security management within our application ecosystem. ➣ Why the Authentication Configuration JAR Matters Streamlined Authentication Processes At the heart of our JAR lies the seamless integration with Spring Security. It streamlines user authentication processes, ensuring that every microservice within Bloggios can securely validate user identities. No more boilerplate code—just efficient, robust security. 🔒 Centralized Management Think of the Authentication Configuration JAR as our security cornerstone. By centralizing authentication and authorization, we empower each microservice to focus on its core functionality while relying on a battle-tested security layer. 🛡️ Swift Integration Hosted on our dedicated repository at https://lnkd.in/d9dTfhmD, this JAR is readily accessible. Whether you’re a seasoned contributor or a curious newcomer, integrating it into your project is a breeze. 🚀 Dev Server: https://dev.bloggios.in Github Organisation: https://lnkd.in/gZ6rV695 Our commitment to security and collaboration drives us forward. Let’s rally together, contribute, and build something remarkable. 🌈 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance. Happy coding! 🚀🔥

Good morning here, Based on my previously shared roadmap, today I will be discussing the history and evolution of Developer Relations. I hope you find it insightful. 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐑𝐞𝐥) encompasses the strategies and practices companies employ to engage, support, and foster relationships with the developer community. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬? Because many individuals have misconceptions about it. Think of it like a dice: the number you see doesn’t reveal the whole picture—other numbers exist on the other sides. DevRel began in the 1980𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞, with Mike Murray aiming to persuade external developers to create software and applications for the Macintosh platform. This strategy was later adopted by companies like Twilio and SendGrid, contributing to their success in 2013. Initially, the role focused on the business-to-developer product model. As more software tools aimed at simplifying developers' lives entered the market (e.g., Postman, Firebase, Azure Cloud Service), the focus expanded. Between 2013 and 2017, more developer conferences were held worldwide, and brands seized the opportunity to showcase their products to the developer community. From 2019 𝐭𝐨 2024, the visibility of the DevRel role surged. Numerous educational content were published about the field, and many developers found their career path in this niche, interesting and rewarding. Industry trends such as cloud computing, blockchain, and artificial intelligence also adopted DevRel practices during this period. History has shown that Developer Advocacy has been long-standing and profitable for tech companies. Check out this survey to see the growth in the DevRel space and its impact on the tech industry: [State of DevRel](https://lnkd.in/ddhmuv2v). Wondering about the future of DevRel? I’ll be back to address that soon. If you found this helpful, please like, comment, and share. #DeveloperRelations #DevRel #TechHistory #DeveloperAdvocacy #womenintech #TechIndustry #CareerGrowth #techcommunity #techies #growth #insight #techcompanies 2/177 post.

A few days ago, I released a new open-source npm package called email-smtp-validator, and I'm thrilled to share that it's already getting over 240+ weekly downloads! 🎉 email-smtp-validator is a robust email validation library for Node.js that goes beyond basic regex checks. Its key features include: ✅ Validating email regular expressions ✅ Verifying that the email was not created using a disposable/throwaway email service ✅ Validating the presence of MX records on DNS ✅ Validating that the SMTP server is running ✅ Validating that the mailbox exists on the SMTP server ✅ TypeScript support You can find email-smtp-validator on npm: https://lnkd.in/dwVJ4-Ru And the GitHub repository: https://lnkd.in/d55fpf38 What makes this package stand out is its comprehensive approach to email validation and its highly customizable nature. Whether you're building a signup flow, a marketing application, or any other system that deals with email addresses, email-smtp-validator can help ensure data integrity. I'm really excited about this project, and I invite you all to check it out and contribute to making it even better for the community. It's open-source, so feel free to submit issues, pull requests, or just try it out and share your feedback. Let's build robust applications together! 💻

New pretalx release! Highlights include: Your starred talks are now saved to your account (if you're logged in) for cross-device sharing – plus – organiser-level speaker directory to see all people who have ever submitted or presented at your events. Read more at https://lnkd.in/eSYEgReb And, as much as we hate to say “bug fixes and performance improvements”, pretalx *is* quite a bit faster now, especially on slow network connections (like your average conference wifi).

If you squint at your authorization system and realize it looks a lot like a database, what does that mean? This week on The Business of Open Source I talked to Jimmy Zelinskie about how exactly that happened at AuthZed. And deciding to position as a database had massive downstream effects: -- If we're a database, that means we should follow a database playbook, which is an open source playbook. Thus the company released SpiceDB. -- It made it easy to figure out what the company's business model should look like -- It helped people understand more quickly how they should interact with and think about AuthZed, which ultimately led to more adoption and community growth. A lot more interesting things in this great episode, which you can check out here: https://lnkd.in/eg3vXKMD

Conducted the most extensive research on non-dev-tool open-source companies. I examined 40 OSS products from the perspective of their monetization strategy and go-to-market motion to understand whether a pitch like "We're similar to Mailchimp but open-sourced" makes any sense. The pitch bares fruit when: 1. The dev bro is a crucial decision-maker. 2. Strict security requirements. 3. Integration-rich products Score a perfect trifecta with these parameters (think PostHog, Appsmith, RudderStack), and you've hit the jackpot! Want to learn more? Check out the research in the first comment.
