Three tips for how to grow your communities with others 1. Reach out to internal team members and ask them to run an AMA on a topic relevant to your community. 2. Reward members who are active and helping out others. Send them some swag. 3. Set up a private channel for your core members so that they have access to extra resources to help other members

Community at Square | Maximizing ROI through strategic community building. | Writer, speaker, husband, brother, dog dad, and sometimes a DJ
Community can be serious business and we can also incorporate fun at the same time. The work that we do is serious. The impact that communities have on businesses and their members is serious. But we should always add fun to the community experience! I've been learning this a lot from Brian Oblinger and Leah Knowles. One idea that comes to mind is granting badges (with fun names!) for special occasions like signing in on a holiday or recognizing a member for how helpful they are and sending them some swag, etc. We should never leave the fun out of what we do :) #community #communitymanager #cmgr

"Gamification," like "Community," has been stretched, misinterpreted, and burned as a term. 🎲❤️🔥 At its core, it's about motivating and rewarding members for their valuable contributions to your community. Many community builders jump straight to handing out physical swag, but there's a lot you can do from a digital, scalable, and free perspective. Whatever you choose, make sure it's something that your members actually want and will be incentivized by. Otherwise, you're spinning your wheels. See the full course here: https://lnkd.in/gYei_UVy

Hey Utah! If you are going to Utah Tech Week and like free shiz, listen up, because I have 4 ways for you to get some! There are some AMAZING events going on, and you should go to as many as possible! In addition to speaking at one on Tuesday and embarrassing myself over hot wings on Weds, team Mobly will also be out there in the wild at as many events as we can get our hands on. But wait....there's more! We are doing 3 contests throughout #UtahTechWeek as well. 1-Anybody can download Mobly for free already, and normally you get 10 free credits to test us out. We are turning off credit limits for all of Utah 1/22-1/28. Paying customers, trial users etc... all get Mobly for free in Utah. Big fat $1,000 cash prize from Mobly for whomever adds the most contacts using Mobly during those dates. CSV uploads don't count, but scanning badges, business cards or searches do! I'll post instructions for those that are new to Mobly in a loom video in the comments. 2-The most combined engagement on any Linkedin post mentioning Mobly during Utah Tech Week will take home a $$ + swag package prize! Thaks Lauren Jacobs for this idea! 3-We will be stalking #UTW events and if you are caught wearing Mobly swag by myself, Kris, Kerry, Kevin, or 👾 Kristian (yes I know we have a bias toward the letter K), you just may walk away with cash, a gift card, more swag etc.... 4-Take a demo with our team between TODAY and end of the month, and we'll send over a little "thank you" present. Ping me, Kris, Kevin or Kristian to get on the calendar. This goes for anyone, inside of Utah and outside. (Note that you've gotta have an actual use case as a marketer, seller, or exec) Tech Week Takeover, Mobly style!!

The Super Bowl is over...but have you heard of the Sertoma Pro Bowl that was played to celebrate our upcoming Friendship Dinner? Watch the video and catch the play by play called by our upcoming Friendship Dinner featured speaker, Charles Davis! On May 14th at the Mill & Mine, we will feature Charles Davis—NFL Commentator for CBS and a former Vol football player. And most importantly, we’ll be honoring Wes Stowers and his family from Stowers Machinery with the Lifetime of Love award. This isn't just an event; it's a chance to support a great mission and mix and mingle with 350 diverse and influential guests that know how to blend business with a bit of football banter. Here’s why I think you'll love being part of it: -Spotlight on You: Imagine your brand lighting up our event space and buzzing on social media, just like those stadium lights on game night. -Network Touchdown: It's like the best post-game party for networking, where every handshake could lead to your next big play. -Community Cheers: Your support echoes far beyond the event, spotlighting your commitment to social good—a cheer that resonates with clients and customers alike. -Tax Score: Plus, there might be some nifty tax perks in it for you. We're creating an experience where your support has a direct, life-changing impact on adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Hey On Deck alumni! On Deck's Slack channel is shutting down January 22. They've built a Community Portal to replace many of those functions. I dislike Slack as it's often too noisy and much value get's lost (not to mention expensive!), so I think this is the right move. No matter where you live, stay connected IRL and join local gatherings of On Deckers by signing up here: https://lnkd.in/gJHabvPC We will be baking this into Sevenn so you can more easily remember where your On Deck friends live while traveling (coffee in NYC!) and proactively connect you with new On Deck friends locally that you have things in common (just move to SF?). Share this with friends you made through On Deck who might not check Slack before it shuts down!
