D.D.s[1] (short for Dangerous Duck)[1] are enemies in the Wario Land series, appearing only in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 and Wario Land II. D.D.s are members of the Black Sugar Gang, they are anthropomorphic ducks, wearing striped bandanas and goggles. They also wield a boomerang as a weapon and have an attack pattern reminiscent to that of a Boomerang Brother.

Wario Land series[edit]
Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3[edit]
When a D.D. spots Wario, it will stop walking, swing its boomerang in its hand three times, and then throw it at Wario, damaging him if it hits him. D.D.s can be stunned and picked up, but since D.D.s are one of the heavier enemies, Wario is slowed as he moves around while carrying one.
Wario Land II[edit]
D.D.s received some changes in Wario Land II, which made them and their boomerangs slightly smaller, and the latter spin faster. In the Game Boy Color version, they are usually given an orange, mint green, and dark blue palette, though four D.D.s in the level Defeat four ducks!, where Wario has to find and defeat four of them, were given a deep red, blue, and black color palette.
Additionally, in Wario Land II, an unlockable minigame titled Flagman D-D can be accessed after achieving a 100% completion rating. It features a D.D. as a host, along with a White puff and a Gugi.
Super Mario Kodansha manga[edit]
In the Super Mario Kodansha manga, three D.D.s act as Captain Syrup's main minions.
In Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land 1, they are tasked with stealing Mario and Luigi's golden statue and taking it to Syrup Castle. They succeed in their task, mocking Mario and the others while trying to retrieve it and end up crashing their rowboat against the SS Tea Cup.
In Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land 2, the D.D.s are encountered in Stove Canyon by Mario and his friends. He offers to exchange the treasures they collected in exchange of the statue, but the D.D.s laugh at this proposal and attack them, but Mario deflects the boomerangs back at them. Before he can proceed with the interrogation, Devil's Head appears and the ducks fall back to the ship. Later, the three ducks and a Paidan trap Mario and the gang in cobwebs, but Miss Goom and Yoshi Metto rescue them and the D.D.s are thrown overboard. They sneakily return on board to pick up the statue and bring it to shore where their captain is waiting. Following a train chase in Parsley Woods, the D.D.s disguise as the Knight to intimidate the heroes, but they are quickly defeated. At this point, the D.D.s reveal what they have done to the golden statue: they melted it to mold it in the shape of their captain. After that, the D.D.s are out of the picture, but the heroes imitate their strategy by standing on each other's shoulders to disguise themselves as the Knight when battling the Genie.
In Daimaru Roketto's chapter in Super Mario 4-koma Daikōshin, D.D.s star in two skits. In the first one, a D.D. wins a boomerang-throwing competition, but Syrup finds the activity foolish and sends it back to work, so the D.D. grows resentful of his boss; in the second one a D.D. calls another D.D. for a shifts swap, but the the second duck acts gloomy and refuses to come, only to be revealed it was just trying to figure out which bandana to wear.
