Hammer Chime is a boss minigame against Hammer Bro in Mario Party DS.

Overview[edit]

Each round begins with Hammer Bro hitting four colored drums randomly before releasing a musical note at the player. The player tries to copy the beat, otherwise they take damage from note, losing one of their five heart units. If the player plays the correct beat, the Hammer Bro gets hit by a charged musical note, inflicting a unit of damage. After three hits, Hammer Bro is defeated, and the player clears Toadette's Music Room and gains the second Sky Crystal.

The player is rewarded a collectible completing Hammer Chime a number of times in Free Play: "Toadette's Chair" on the first win; "Toadette's Piano" a second time; "Toadette's Timpani" a third time; "Hammer Bro's Hammer" a fourth time; and "Beaten Hammer Bro" a fifth time.

Controls[edit]

  • Stylus – Beat your drums

In-game text[edit]

  • Rules"Memorize the tune that Hammer Bro plays, then repeat it before his music notes strike you."
  • Tips"Even if you hit the wrong drum, you can try again if the music note hasn't reached you yet. Take your time, despite the danger!"

Naming[edit]

The title is a reference to the lyric "Stop! Hammer time!" of "U Can't Touch This," a song by MC Hammer.
