Neo Bowser Castle is the final area in both Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, being a specialized counterpart to Bowser's Castle. In both games, Neo Bowser Castle is a castle floating in the sky via purple energy. Bowser's Castle had previously doubled as a floating weapon in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, but they are not given any special name there. In both games, they are guarded by powerful enemies that include Big Tail Goombas and Mechakoopas.
History
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
In Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Neo Bowser Castle is created by Antasma as a wish from Bowser. it does not appear until the middle of the game, where it appears floating high above Pi'illo Island. It fires upon several smaller islands surrounding Pi'illo Island as a threat display shortly after it is created. After the Zeekeeper is awoken and attacks it, it is grounded and lands in the east, north of Somnom Woods and east of Mount Pajamaja. It can be reached by traveling north in the area between Mushrise Park and Somnom Woods. After Dreamy Bowser is defeated, destroying the remainder of the Dream Stone, the castle begins to collapse and must be escaped.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
- Main article: Neo Bowser Castle (Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam)
In Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Neo Bowser's Castle is now portrayed as an upgrade of Bowser's Castle via the purple crystals mined at Twinsy Tropics. It takes off after the Bros. defeat Bowser Jr. and his paper counterpart in Bowser's Castle. The castle takes off and appears in the sky above Mount Brrr, destroying part of Peach's Castle with a massive cannonball. It can be reached by climbing a winding staircase made of Paper Toads from the mountain summit.
