Rat-a-tat Flat (Scaredy Flat in the British English version) is a General minigame from Mario Party: Island Tour.

Overview[edit]

In the demo, a Scaredy Rat comes into the room, and Blue Toad Ground Pounds it before more Scaredy Rats enter the room.

Scaredy Rats come out from the mouse holes, and the player must ground pound as many as they can. As the minigame progresses, Gold Scaredy Rats come out, and are worth three points. The player that squishes the most Scaredy Rats wins.

  • Circle Pad – Move
  • A Button - Jump
  • A Button then A Button - Ground-pound

In-game text[edit]

  • Rules – American English: "Jump and ground-pound to squish as many Scaredy Rats as possible."
  • Rules – British English: "Squish the Scaredy Rats by ground pounding them."

Naming[edit]

The American name "Rat-a-tat Flat" is a pun on the onomatopoeic term "rat-a-tat-tat", a noise when drumsticks are being played on a snare drum, while the British name "Scaredy Flat" comes from "Scaredy Rat".
