The Chimp's Bowling Challenge is the hidden third mission of the Melty Monster Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and its Nintendo Switch port. This mission takes place during the missions The Magnificent Magma Sea and A Stroll Down Rolling Lane.

Layout[edit]

To get this secret star, Mario or Luigi must use the Warp Pipe found on the first planet. He ends up on the Bowling Lane where he finds The Chimp, who challenges him to a bowling challenge. Mario has to score 5000 points to win, and can obtain a maximum of 5600 points. To do so, he has to use his Rock form to bowl over the maximum number of Pinheads. If Mario succeeds, The Chimp rewards him with a Power Star.
