Hi! and Welcome…

Iโ€™m Evelyn, the heart behind My Turn For Us. I am 60 plus years old and retired from Law Enforcement (I was a Deputy Sheriff in Southern California). We are currently building our retirement home on our ranch in the great state of Texas. Then it’s off for some traveling!!

I’m married to my very best friend in the whole world, who is also 60 plus years old who just retired from USBP after 26 years of service.

I consider myself an authentic person whoโ€™s lived through plenty of adventures, learned a lot along the way, and now loves sharing what I know about food, DIY projects, and travel. Iโ€™m all about keeping it honest, practical, and fun.

I started my journey in Southern California, and lifeโ€™s taken me on many winding roads. Today, I split my time between my travels and our peaceful 160-acre ranch in Texasโ€”a place filled with memories, family laughter, and a sense of freedom.

My Story! Where it all began.

I began blogging simply as a way for family and friends to keep up with our travels across the United States. What started as a personal journal quickly turned into something moreโ€”a chance to connect with people, learn new skills, and share everyday adventures.

Over time, my little blog grew into a genuine community of friends and readers who are as curious about life as I am.

My Turn For Us truly came to life when I realized that sharing real-life experiencesโ€”from cooking up a storm in the kitchen to tackling DIY projects and exploring off-the-beaten-path travel spotsโ€”was more rewarding than just counting followers.

It became a place where every post is a piece of my daily journey, a work in progress that grows with every new lesson learned and every new adventure taken.

My Why. What truly matters.

Family, creativity, and genuine connections matter most to me. Iโ€™m proud of the life my husband and I have builtโ€”raising our children, cherishing our retirement after years in law enforcement and USBP, and creating a haven at our ranch where we can truly be ourselves.

Itโ€™s this balance of home, heart, and adventure that keeps me inspired.
