Start your process

The timeline below is a suggestion of how you can go through the stages in our app. It's important to note that it's not "one size fits all" - different people find different tools useful in their day-to-day lives, so we encourage you to experiment at your own pace to find out what helps you
Raise your awareness and monitor the habit
1 - 2 weeks
Low effort
An optional first step in the app is to simply log the habit as it occurs, raising your awareness of it in the moment. Each time you log, you can add the situation you were in, the emotion you felt, and any additional notes. After a week or two, you'll be able to see your habit patterns and top triggers.‍
Reduce/avoid the habit
2 - 4 weeks
Medium effort
You can start right here if you'd rather skip logging first
The idea is to open pull-free challenges throughout your day. A challenge can run for 1 hour, 3 hours, or until 9PM. During that window, you take on greater responsibility to resist pulling when you notice the urge starting.
Practice embracing the urge
1 - 2 weeks
High effort
We see every urge as an opportunity. When one arises, try an urge-session: a 1-minute guided mindfulness exercise. Instead of resisting the urge, focus on it - how does it feel, and where do you feel it in your body? Sometimes just observing it takes the sting out.
Find what works for you
Keep going
Over time, you'll discover which exercises work best for you. Different people find different tools useful. Once you know what helps, you can keep practicing it in your routine to maintain the progress you've made for the long run.

I've tried to stop my BFRB habit many times and it didn't really work.. Why should I try SoloUno?

Most habit apps assume you can just stop. With BFRBs, it's rarely that simple.

We know this from personal experience, and it's why SoloUno isn't built around quitting cold turkey - it's built around creating habit-free periods when you can, and reducing the habit as much as possible the rest of the time. The goal is small, daily wins that make the process feel manageable, motivating, and even rewarding.

Can the app be used for any habit or addiction?

While SoloUno was built with BFRBs in mind, it can be used for any negative behavior or habit you want to change. That said, the app does not constitute medical advice and is not a substitute for professional treatment. For any health-related condition or addiction, we recommend consulting a qualified healthcare professional.

Can other users see my habit?

No.

Your habit will not be visible to other users.

If you'd prefer not to name it at all, you can also choose to keep it private during signup.

I'm already in therapy, can I use the app alongside it?

Yes.

SoloUno was built to support the kind of daily practice that CBT and HRT therapy rely on: tracking your habit, logging triggers, and building awareness between sessions. Over time, the app analyzes your habit patterns and helps you uncover your most common triggers, situations, and emotions — giving you rich, real data to bring into your therapy sessions and discuss with your therapist.

Is SoloUno still useful after therapy ends?

SoloUno was built to support the kind of daily practice that CBT and HRT therapy rely on: tracking your habit, logging triggers, and building awareness between sessions. So whether you're currently in therapy or have finished, the app enables you to keep practicing and maintain your progress.

Is SoloUno available on both mobile and desktop?

Yes.

SoloUno is available on both mobile and desktop. Simply go to app.solouno.io and log in to your account. Using the web version is especially handy when you're at work or school and your computer is already in front of you.
