Joy is one of 5 Great Harbor 26's ever built by legendary Maine boatbuilder Hank Hinckley. All are unique/custom, and Joy is a true gem. Her hull is cold molded of western red cedar veneers with a layer of honduras mahogany on the outside. The teak decks with mahogany house are beautiful. This boat is a show stopper. Impeccably maintained.
The GH26 is a 26' trailerable sloop. This weekend yacht is designed to be easily loaded on a trailer with its lift keel and removable inboard rudder. The keel up draft of 1'10" permits access to remote cruising areas that are unavailable to other sailboats of its size. Joy also comes with a beautiful 2-axle road-ready trailer; you can take her anywhere with ease!!
A no compromise approach has been taken with both the design and construction. The finished product is of a quality only found in much larger custom yachts.
Constructed with an eye towards saving weight without sacrificing structural strength.

Hull construction: Cold molded. It contains three diagonal layers of 1/8" western red cedar with a final layer of 1/10" Honduran mahogany on the topsides. The hull is covered with 8 oz boat cloth applied with clear epoxy resin. The final finish is clear Awlgrip urethane. The backbone is oak and the stem laminated ma
