Claudia Arevalo Ms. Bell English 4 1 September 2013 Superman Clark Kent, the name that Superman not just to have a personality but to protect the people he cares for. Superman was the first main superhero that was created for comic books. He was the last of his home planet Krypton. The artist of the comic book was Adam Kurbert were he has drawn for many comic books. The Last Son of Krypton was he finds a boy from his planet Krypton. Generally the comic book was great and very understanding. History of Comic Books In the past comic books were going by different ages as Golden, Sliver, Atom, Bronze, and now its Modern Ages. Also comic werent called comic books they were called funny books. The first comic book strip was called Yellow Kid in 1896. Later on in the years the comic book came out with the Funnies on Parade. It was the first most real comic book that was created. DC comic were coming in and buying New Fun. They later created Superman. Dr. Occult had an earlier appearance under the name Dr. Mystic in The Comic Magazine, which came out in 1936 (Coville). In 1937 Detective Comics (DC) came out with their first issue in March. super hero to the people. Now a days Superman is the most known faced for the people. He became the face of the people to help through the hard times. History of Superman The first ever Superman was created as not just a hero, but as a villain. Well the baldheaded superman wasnt making any money so they cut him out. They created the Superman to give it a more heroic look more for good then evil. Superman then went by Super-Man but soon changed it to Superman for fitting. Superman had to protect his family from his identity so he came up with his name being Clark Kent. He was the last son of his big world Krypton. Most people would think that superman main powers would be heat vision, super strength, can fly and also super speed. When he was first created his main powers were super powers that were first introduced. It was super speed, super jump and super power they are his true powers. As Superman who was born on planet Earth in his spaceship. Well hes Kryptonian body began developing superhuman abilities. He then promised to use only his powers for good of mankind. Superman power energy comes from our planets yellow sun which gets him stronger. He possesses tremendous strength; while Superman's strength is not infinite, its full extent is so great that it has never been accurately measured (SuperHeroStuff). He also had the earring like no one else he hears better than the human ear. Superman can see like no one else in general Superman can do about anything, x-ray vision, super sight and to be able to fly in space. Superman also has a women of his own Lois Lane a reporter that original comes up with the name to name the hero Superman. She also soon knows Superman true identity Clark Kent and knows his whole story were he came from. But when being a super hero come with some

super villains. His main villains are Lex Luther, Doomsday, Zod, and Brainic. There are also many different other super villain for Superman other than the main bad guys. Superman is the oldest Super hero known to America. Adam Kubert History Adam Kubert would best be known to the world about hi amazing art work on Marvel and DC comic books. He has drawn for many comic books known today. Kubert also runs his own school that was founded by his father and ran till he passed away. He is known for his work in penciling. Adam went to Rochester Institute of Technology in a degree of medical illustration. He also studies at Joe Kubert school of Cartoon and Graphic Art. Where Adam drew many of his drawings was with Marvel then with DC. He had admirers many artists like Frank Miller, Will Eisner, Jim Steranko, Alex Foth, and Joe Kubert. Other then that he inspired by his father and what he does. Since he took over his father school nd teaches young minds. Much of the inspiration for Kubert's 'painted' work, as seen on the covers of his Action Comics run, are drawn from the works of Will Eisner as can be seen by the brown almost 'sepia' like finishes with the white highlights (Wikia-Adam Kubert). Kubert and his work would mostly be best known for Marvel Comics. His Finest work would be best seen in Wolverine and the Incredible Hulk for Marvel. Adam Kubert's trademark is his raw, dynamic art style, combined with fluid storytelling and noteworthy pacing (WikiaAdam Kubert). He worked with different comics with Hulk, Wolverine and the X-Men. His different type of work is base off of his penciller. Different types of work influenced the quality of the final print page.

Adam and his works with DC comic are low. The issue of Superman and the last son of krypton was his first ever project with DC comics. To which he has only worked for Marvel. He had signed a contact in 2006 to draw for DC. Kubert was originally slated to begin his arc. He hasnt drawn for DC and Superman was his first comic for them. Summary of Superman Issue #844 The comic book Superman The Last Son of Krypton Part One. This issue brings forth the idea that Superman wasnt the only living soul to have escaped from Krypton. Superman has too face a new problem were he had found a little boy. The shocking part is that this little boy speaks Superman language, the language of Kryptonese. Superman then has to protect this little boy from anything that can harm him. Even though the boy already has powers like superman. The Department of Metahuman Affairs wants to meet with Superman so they can do some testes on the unknown boy. The whole issue is about the struggles Superman is going through to make sure that nothing or no one would use his powers for evil. Before this comic came out Superman had just met another hero like himself but Supergirl it was. But he would discuss this with Lois Lane, Clark Kents wife. Then it would go over to Lex Luther who would want to use the boys powers for his use only and could destroy Superman. At one point the Affairs wants to transfer the boy to a different place. But without them telling Superman he goes on a hunt to find the boy. Hes main concerned would be to make sure that the boy is safe from no danger. Once Superman takes the boy from the men he takes it to his parents back in Smallville where he knows the boy is safe. And that is how they end part one of the comic series. Other than that, this issue of Superman was interesting because how they start it off with him and his father.

Superman has come to change his way to blend in with the people were very few people know who he really is and to where he has come from. The idea through this whole issue well part one would be that this there more people out there like Superman or not. Superman is the hope that people believe in and to be the hero that saves the people. Review of Superman Comic In this issue of Superman The Last Son of Krpyton it thats a new whole about is Superman the only survivor from his planet Krypton or are there more people. He has come to realize that there are more people out there like him. I think that he has to come to think about the people he has to protect when he bring his own people to Earth. Also in the comic his father had to tell him that hes not like the people on Earth. Even though he was born there, but its not hes not human like them. This comic book I would say I like a lot. But in my half would be better if I got the whole issue not just part one and leave myself hanging. Other than that I think it was great. The whole issue about the young boy Superman found crashing into the streets of Metropolis. He has to come through challenges to make sure that this boy is safe and not just use for research work. Its crazy how he found someone like himself again and to see how what could have happened if he didnt crash landed in a small town, but instead a big city. In his eyes he would have been tested and done research on and he wouldnt have become Superman or even know what it feels like to have a family. Many things would have been going through his head. Thats why I would think it was great idea to leave this boy in the care in his parents like he has done in where they have left in part one. Superman I looking out

for this boy because he doesnt know what has happen or whats going on but having the powers like Superman has this boy being a big part. Superman in this comic strip is good bad part was that there was barley any fighting going on but it was still good. Having to bring in different characters that Superman has to go through is crazy.
