To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter to recommend Miss Melodie Miller for hire as a
teacher at your school. Miss Miller served as a yearlong resident intern in my
fifth grade inclusion classroom. During this time, she has proved herself to be
responsible, professional, and dedicated to student achievement.
As a yearlong intern, Melodie was more than a student teacher. She
served as a co-teacher. She planned and implemented fantastic lessons that met
Common Core Standards, took into account individual differences, and
incorporated many teaching strategies. Her planning skills are strong as is her
knowledge of the Common Core Standards. She also has showed herself to be
flexible when there were unavoidable schedule changes or when students just
didnt respond as planned. I also found Melodie to be extremely reflective with
regard to her lessons and student learning. This is a trait that will serve her well
in her own classroom as she works to improve her teaching skills and student
learning.
Throughout her time at Richey, Miss Miller maintained an environment of
mutual respect in which the students felt safe, valued and were willing to take
academic risks. She handled misbehavior in a fair and consistent manner.
Melodie was always pleasant and developed strong working relationships with the
students, their families, and colleagues.
Melodie also attended and contributed to parent conferences, open houses,
and IEP meetings. She voluntarily attended meetings of our Building Leadership
Team, in addition to the required PLC meetings and faculty meetings. She also
voluntarily attended many after-school functions such as literacy and math nights
and the Princess Ball. Melodie voluntarily attended many professional
development sessions and served as a volunteer coach for our Girls on the Run
program.
I highly recommend Melodie Miller for hire as a teacher in your school or
district. I make this recommendation with absolutely no reservations. She will be
an asset to any school or classroom. If Melodie is the future of teaching, our
profession has a bright future. Should you have any questions, I can be reached at
