To whom it may concern,

This semester I am a senior at Emory & Henry College in Emory, VA, and I
will be graduating on May 7th, 2016 with a bachelor of arts in psychology
and sociology. I am currently searching for jobs in the social work and
human services field in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. I plan on
pursuing a masters degree in social work, but I would like to work in the
field to gain ample experience and skills beforehand. During my time at
Emory & Henry College, I have developed a deep passion for social
services and to be an advocate and aid for those people in need of
assistance.
I believe that my background in social services, the mental health field,
my educational foundation and personal qualities have supplied me with
the adequate skills to be a competent worker in this field. Some related
skills and experience include:
An internship with the Southwestern Mental Health institution in
which I shadowed many mental health practitioners and social
workers and had close interactions with a wide range of patients.
An internship with the Washington County department of social
services in which I am performing a large variety of tasks, including
home visits, family partnership meetings, counseling services,
Spanish interpretation services and assistance with drug
screenings.
A job as a resident advisor for two years and head resident advisor
for one year in which I developed strong leadership skills, provided
assistance and guidance with a wide range of issues while
enforcing college policies.
I am extremely enthusiastic about this field, and I am confident that I will
be a more than competent worker. Enclosed you will find my resume,
which provides additional information about my expertise, background
and educational and career achievements. I am available through phone
