To whom it may concern:
My name is Rose McKee and I am looking forward to graduating on April 29, 2021 from University of Cincinnati’s
Master of Social Work program. I received my Bachelor’s from University of Cincinnati in Criminal Justice in May
2016. I am currently completing my internship through Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Developmental and Behavioral
Pediatrics (DDBP) and Leadership in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND), which will conclude in April
2021. Based on my clinical social work foundation from my formal social work education, internships, and work
experience at Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health, I feel that I would be a great addition to your team.
I have been working full time in mental health for five years as a Care Manager, in addition to attending school at the
same time. I have learned a wealth of clinical information spending over three years on FIRST, which is a first episode
psychosis team where we serve individuals aged 15-35. I work mostly with adolescents and very young adults, and
working with this population has helped me identify that I was passionate about social work. I decided to go back to
school in May 2019 to be able to gain more clinical knowledge, and further my career doing what I love.
During my internship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Hospital (CCHMC), I spend Tuesday and Thursdays
working DDBP and LEND. My participation in the LEND program has allowed me to grow my interprofessional
education, giving ample opportunity to learn about different disciplines and collaborate with them to improve patient care.
This experience allowed me to become aware of resources specific to the mental health and developmental disability
community, and refine skills such as giving and receiving feedback, problem solving, sharing difficult news, and
collaborative care.
I have a strong passion for mental health and clinical social work, and a desire to continue my professional career working
within a fast-paced, continually changing environment. I feel that this position would provide me the opportunity to
challenge myself in a multitude of ways: personally, intellectually, and professionally. I am eager to talk about how this
position could allow me to further advance my professional career upon the conclusion of my internship and graduation
this spring. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking about the Social Worker
position.
Sincerely,
Rose McKee, MSW, LSW
