Footnotes:

1. These price indexes relate to the selling prices of new houses constructed by residential general contractors. The estimated
house only and land only indexes are also calculated in conjunction with the total selling price indexes. Since inception of the
Goods and Services Tax in January 1, 1991 and the subsequent introduction of some provincial consumption taxes; the
Quebec Sales Tax in Quebec (July 1, 1992), and the Harmonised Sales Tax in Newfoundland and Labrador, New
Brunswick ,Nova Scotia (April 1, 1997) and in Ontario and British Columbia (July 1, 2010), the New Housing Price Index has
not included these consumption taxes in index calculations. No revisions. For more information, contact the Producer Prices
Division, Dissemination Unit, 613-951-4550 or toll free 1-888-951-4550, ppd-info-dpp@statcan.gc.ca.
2. Data for periods prior to January 2007 were calculated by linking 1997=100 data (see CANSIM table 327-0005) to the
average of the 12 months of 2007.
