Closing-The-Gap Action Plan

This action plan aims to increase attendance for students with IEPs by implementing a CICO (Check-In, Check-Out) program from January to October 2020. The target group is students with IEPs who have missed school five or more times in a month, which is currently 18% of students with IEPs and 87% of those students are chronically absent. The CICO program will have students check-in and check-out daily and complete a worksheet for 3 weeks. Data collection will include the number of participating students, surveys on supportive relationships and positive behaviors, and attendance rates with a goal of decreasing chronic absenteeism of students with IEPs from 87% to 85% over the school year
