Subject: Request For Fee Waiver

The student writes a letter to request a fee waiver or installment plan to pay outstanding university fees. He explains that since his father suffered a stroke, the responsibility of supporting his family has fallen on him. However, he has been unable to find decent employment without having his degree in hand. He humbly requests that the vice chancellor allow him to either not pay the outstanding fees or pay in installments over one year so that he can obtain his degree and improve his employment prospects to support his family.

Lahore.

Subject: Request for Fee Waiver

Sir,

With respect, it is stated that I have completed all requirements for the
award of a Bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning except that there are
still some outstanding dues that I owe to the university but cannot pay at this
time. I need you to allow me to pay these dues at a later time, when I can pay
with my own income.

My father is an Imam Masjid. He suffered from a stroke in January and

since then, being the eldest brother, all the responsibility has fallen on my
shoulders to support the family. But not having a degree in my hand is proving
to be the only thing preventing me from getting a decent job. Right now, I am
struggling as a private tutor, but have been turned down employment requests
by several organizations just because I do not have a degree.

All medical reports of my father are duly attached with this application. I
humbly request you to grant me a fee waiver, or at least allow me pay this
outstanding amount within a one year installment period, so that I can get my
degree and apply for jobs everywhere.

I shall be very thankful to you.

Yours sincerely,
