Facilitator Code of Conduct
Purpose: The facilitator code of conduct should serve as a guide for
defining expectations and appropriate behaviors of facilitators who work
with youth. This sample code of conduct outlines characteristics that an
effective and supportive facilitator should posses.
Facilitators:
Have the highest standards of positive youth development.
Guide and advise youth with diligence, honesty and empathy.
Acknowledges and respects the uniqueness, individuality, and
specific needs of each youth.
Guides and encourages youth to realize their potential.
Use appropriate language when communicating with youth and
practices effective listening skills.
Use positive discipline techniques when managing group behavior
and conflict situations amongst youth.
Create and maintain "safe spaces" where youth can learn, engage
and share.
Avoid any conduct which might appear unprofessional towards youth
and colleagues.
Does not facilitate while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Does not engage in any form of humiliation, abuse, intimidation or
violence against youth in the program.
Does not engage with discrimination or bias against youth in the
program because of their race, religion, tribe, sexual orientation, and
place of origin or sex.
Promote gender equality and debunks myths around gender norms
when appropriate.
Does not have a sexual or inappropriate relationships with youth in
the program or in general.
Does not abuse the position he/she holds for financial, political or
personal gain.
Build relationships with the parents/ caretakers of youth and
encourages them to be actively involved in the program.
Take responsibility for promoting the social and emotional learning
and well-being of youth in the program.

To maintain spiritual atmosphere and common intercession everyone
is in encourage to attend on time
Avoid negativity, encourage suggestions, ideas and not reject them
straight away
Protect in times of troubles, failures and accept each other even in
their flaws
