Learning Activity 1 Evidence: The Time Is Now: Fuente: SENA

This document provides instructions for a learning activity that involves answering questions in writing and recording audio responses. The questions ask students to discuss reasons why they did not previously study English, how things would be different if they had studied English before, why they are now studying English, and how they will benefit from learning English. Students are provided with examples to use as models for their responses. They are then instructed to complete the written and audio portions of the activity and submit their files to their instructor through the online platform. Criteria for evaluation focus on formulating hypothetical consequences of different past courses of action and communicating ideas about initiative and self-directed learning using required vocabulary.

Learning activity 1

Evidence: The time is now

This evidence is divided into two parts: A composition and an audio file. Read the
instructions below and make sure you complete both tasks.

Fuente: SENA

A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar and
vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didn’t you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didn’t study English before it is because I thought it
was too difficult. I didn’t understand my English teacher at school and that
was frustrating.
-The main reason why I had not studied English before, was because I saw it
unnecessarily.

- Another reason was because I studied my elementary school in a rural school and
we saw that subject by the students' requirement and not because we would like it
very much. He did not understand and he did not pay much to that class, he saw it as
something impossible to learn. "He was frustrated at not being able to easily learn the
things that leave us as jobs.

2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name and
explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.

- First of all, if I had learned English before, "I would not feel that way when I found
myself in need of speaking or understanding English and I am successful in doing it".

- I would not have missed the opportunity! It is leaving the country in commission of
work with the company with which I work.

- I would have helped foreign tourists several times when they ask me something in
English and I do not know what they tell me.

- If I had taken English before, "it would not be so difficult and not to do these virtual
courses".

- I would have served too much in my studies.
