Sub: Engagement of Junior Software Developer purely on contractual basis in IIT (ISM),
Dhanbad– regarding.

The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad invites applications
for engagement of Junior Software Developer purely on contractual basis, for one year initially and
renewable on year to year basis till such time there is a felt need of their services, subject to
satisfactory performance to be evaluated by the Competent Authority. The details regarding
eligibility criteria, terms of references etc. are as under:

Junior Software Developer (purely on Contract) - 2 (Two)

Qualification & Experience:

BE/B.Tech preferably in Computer Science Engineering/MCA with minimum 1 year relevant

experience in developing web applications with PHP, CSS, Mysql, Jquery, JavaScript, Motion
UI, UI/UX Responsive Framework OR BCA/B.Sc. with minimum 3 years relevant experience in
developing web applications with PHP, CSS, Mysql, Jquery, JavaScript, Motion UI, UI/UX
Responsive Framework.

Desirable Experience:

Experience in the development of Software system for Academic Institutions, knowledge of

CodeIgniter.

Job Description:

To develop and/or modify modules, along with detailed documentation for developer and user,
for office automation of IIT(ISM) using PHP, MYSQL and CodeIgniter.

Age limit:

Preferably below 40 years of age. (Upper age limit may be relaxed in exceptional cases)

Remuneration:

The Junior Software Developer engaged will be paid a consolidated monthly remuneration of
Rs. 30,000/- per month. No other facility, allowance etc. shall be admissible.

Increment:

If the period of Contract is extended beyond one year, an annual increment of 5% on the
monthly remuneration shall be admissible.

General Terms and Conditions:

i. The engagement would be purely on contractual basis for a period of one year initially,
subject to satisfactory performance, at the sole discretion of this Institute. Any claim for
absorption at the regular position in the Institute will not be entertained at any point of
time.
ii. The period of engagement of the Junior Software Developers shall not exceed beyond
the age of 60 years.
iii. The Junior Software Developers shall be eligible for 08 days of Casual leave in a
calendar year. This leave will not be carried forward in case the engagement period is
extended by this Institute. Also, no payment in lieu of unutilised leave will be paid by
this Institute at the time of expiry of contract.
iv. The Institute may terminate the services of the Junior Software Developers in case
he/she is unable to perform their duty to the satisfaction of the Competent Authority.
v. The Institute shall also reserve the right to terminate the services of the Junior Software
Developers at any time without giving any notice and also without assigning any reason.
vi. The Junior Software Developers shall have to attend office six days (Monday to
Saturday) a week.
vii. The Junior Software Developers will be required to attend duty on Sundays and other
Gazetted Holidays or may be asked to extend working hours, in case of exigencies. No
extra remuneration will be admissible for the same.
viii. The applicant should be able to communicate in English and Hindi.
ix. The shortlisted applicants shall have to appear for a test and/or interview.
x. No TA/DA shall be admissible to the Junior Software Developers for joining the
assignment. The Junior Software Developer will not be allowed any foreign travel at
Institute’s expenses. However, he/she may be allowed TA/DA for travel inside the
country in connection with official work assigned to him/her.
xi. IIT(ISM) will not issue any postal letter[s] in respect of this advertisement. All
communication will be made through IIT(ISM) Website only. Applicants are requested
to check IIT(ISM) Website regularly.
xii. The Junior Software Developer willing to relinquish his/her engagement, will have to
give two months notice and handover all data/program/information available with
him/her to the competent authority or the person authorized by the competent authority
or have to deposit two months salary in lieu of the notice period.
xiii. The Headquarters of the Junior Software Developers will be at Dhanbad.
xiv. Any resultant dispute shall be settled within the jurisdiction of Dhanbad.
