EXT. DRIVEWAY. DUSK

BLAKE, a cool teenager who takes any opportunity to make
money is walking toward the house is baby sitting at for the
night. He is listening to music and dancing.
Begin Flash forward:

EXT. FOREST. DAY

We see THE RUNNER who doesn’t care about nature, swinging
his arm while holding a rock on his hand at the
ENVIRONMENTALIST whose only concern is about the planet.

End Flash forward:

Blake knocks on the door. A middle aged funky MUM opens the
door.

MUM
(With enthusiasm)
Hellooo Blake, nice to see you.
BLAKE
Heyyyy, yes

MUM
Come in, come in.

INT. HOUSE. DUSK

MUM
He’s just in his room, c’mon this
way.
Mum walks to Vlad’s room, opens the door. Vlad is reading a
’Global Warming’ book.
MUM
Vlad? Blake is here. I’m going out
for dinner with friends, OK?

Pause. Mum shuffles out of the room.

MUM
OK, make sure he’s asleep by 8
aannd... DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 2.

BLAKE
Aha yeah, yeah of course.
MUM
But um take this if you want.

BLAKE
Oh thank you. Enjoy your night.
Mum leaves the house. Blake strolls around Vlad’s room and
nearly touches one of the plants. Vlad, a 11 year old kid
who is innocent, hopeful and dull at times is lying on the
bed.
VLAD
DON’T TOUCH THAT.

BLAKE
Yea, OK, OK (said awkwardly). Do
you want to play a game or read a
story?
VLAD
Sit down.
BLAKE
What?
VLAD
I’m gonna tell you a story.
BLAKE
Ah, OK.
VLAD
(Whispering)
Deep in the forest.
BLAKE
What? I can’t hear you.

VLAD
Cough, Deep in the forest, there
was a COUGH* COUGH*
Vlad coughs disgustingly loud.

BLAKE
(Chuckles)
You okay?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 3.

VLAD
Yup, yup.
CUT TO:

EXT. FOREST. DAY

There is a runner jogging in the forest alone.
VLAD (V.O.)
Ever since I started training,
karma trailed me like a shadow. It
was hard enough just running, now I
had to clean up this mess.
He accelerates then decelerates. He stops for moment to
catch a breath and two guys run past laughing at him. He
looks up the road and sees another runner coming towards him
so he runs into the bush to hide. The other runner passes
him, so he starts to jog again. He stops for a water break
and litters the water bottle. An environmentalist guy walks
into the scene.

ENVIRONMENTALIST
Ay mate, did you just litter?
RUNNER
(Looking to see if he’s
talking to someone else)
Me?
ENVIRONMENTALIST
Yeah you, I just saw you.

RUNNER
If you saw me why’d you ask.
ENVIRONMENTALIST
OK mate. Firstly littering is bad
for the planet, do you not care
about your children’s future?
Runner looks around confused.
RUNNER
I don’t have any kids.
ENVIRONMENTALIST
OK, I’ve had enough, if you don’t
pick this up we’re gonna have a
problem-

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 4.

RUNNER
(Interrupting)
Wait, wait... what’s secondly?

ENVIRONMENTALIST
’ight, I’m gonna be the bigger man
and pick it up for you.
Environmentalist picks up the bottle slowly and chucks it at
the runner.
RUNNER
(With anger)
WHAT!

Runner picks the bottle back up and throws it back at the

environmentalist. They both start fighting. There is a
montage of both fighting. The environmentalist is killed by
the runner.
RUNNER
Breathes heavily*
VLAD (V.O.)
It was hard enough just running,
now I had to clean up this mess.

The two guys that ran past him laughing walk into the scene
and they look shocked and frightened. The runner looks at
them awkwardly. The two men run away from him with fear and
the runner chase them. There is background music of them
fighting and someone dying.

CUTS TO:

INT. HOUSE. NIGHT

Blake sitting on the chair and Vlad is on the bed.

BLAKE
Wait wait wait ... Sooooo what, he
just goes for them? 2 v 1?

VLAD
They had seen too much, karma was
coming for them.
BLAKE
Damn.

Blake glances around the room and sees all the "global
warming" and "climate change" posters on the walls.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 5.

VLAD
See what happens, when you commit
one sin, it leads on to another one
AND another one AND ANOTHER ONE...

BLAKE
Waa.. wait?
VLAD
Yeah. He littered then he had to
cover up what he did, so he kills
him and the two guys come in and he
has to kill them because they saw
him killing that guy and it’s just
bad luck all around.
BLAKE
(Agreeing)
Yeah, yeah you shouldn’t litter,
it’s bad for the environment and,
it’s a sin.
VLAD
Yeah... and I’m gonna have to clean
your mess before you start
spreading your karma around.
BLAKE
What? My, my Karma?
VLAD
Yeah.
Vlad pulls up and holds up the mars packet that Blake threw
away.
BLAKE
Um mm... yeah.
VLAD
It was hard enough trying to sleep,
now I have to clean up this mess.
Vlad pulls out a Nerf gun, points it at Blake and shoots.
Credits roll.
