Chain vibration may occur owing to the additional chain return sprocket
arrangements (polygon effect).
Chain hoists with the V2 hoist speed code must only be used with prior
agreement of Mannesmann Dematic. Kindly advise us the operating conditions
for such requirements.
These vibrations may be a disadvantage depending on the speed, lifting height
and design of the load-bearing arrangement in some applications.
Kindly clarify this matter for critical applications.

EKDDK assembly instructions
1 Preparing the trolley To fit the trolley on the monorail girder, push all guide rollers 1 to the outside after
loosening the corresponding screws 2 and/or 3.
In addition, detach tension spring 4 and turn support roller assembly 5 to the outside.
If it is not possible to run the trolley onto the girder at the end of the monorail, disman-
tle the trolley leg by loosening hexagon screws 7.
2 Fitting the trolley on the monorail The trolley should be fitted if possible on a straight section of the monorail.
girder If the trolley can only be fitted by dismantling the trolley leg, the monorail hoist must
be suspended from the monorail by means of drive leg 8 (since the trolley is not se-
cured in this way, it must be supported by suitable means).
Then refit the dismantled trolley leg (tightening torque of screws 7 = 125 Nm).
3 Adjusting the guide rollers Push guide rollers 1 of the trolley onto the monorail flange so that an air gap of 1 mm
remains between each guide roller and the girder.
Then turn support roller assembly 5 into the position shown in the drawing so that the
support roller can support the travel trolley under the girder.
Check that all guide rollers are pushed onto the girder to the same degree to ensure
the trolley runs straight. Check this by measuring the position of guide roller pins 9
and/or 10 in the trolley leg slots. When the guide rollers are all in the same position,
tighten screws 2 and/or 3 with a tightening torque of 300 Nm.
Check and correct, if necessary, the play between the guide rollers and the girder.
To ensure the trolley runs straight, check once again that guide roller pins 9 and/or 10
are positioned at the same distance in the slots and correct, if necessary.
When the guide rollers have been adjusted, tension spring 4 can be fitted again.
4 Vertical alignment of the trolley To adjust the vertical position of the trolley, adjust nuts 11 on threaded pin 10. It is
absolutely necessary to lock the nuts after alignment.
After aligning the trolley, adjust anti-climbing safety screw 12 in such a way that an air
gap of 2 mm remains between screw head and bottom edge of the monorail. Then
lock the screw by means of nut 13.
If after alignment the tension spring is no longer in a horizontal position, this can be
corrected by raising or lowering screw 14.
5 Check run After aligning the trolley, a check run must be carried out to check whether girder
tolerances cause the trolley to bind. If this is the case, the guide rollers must be ad-
justed with a play greater than 1 mm.
6 Monorail girder Permissible dimension and shape deviations of monorail girder to DIN 1025 T1-T5.
All monorail joints must be smooth and clean (also on the underside of the monorail
up to 30 mm from the flange outer edge, see sketch).
Bolted joints must be situated outside the range of the travel wheels (pay attention to
maximum web thickness).
