REPORT OF FIELD VISIT TO ‘GOVERNMENT BLIND SCHOOL ’.

RAIPUR
[C.G],

INTRODUCTION-

We students of M.Sc Nursing Previous year organized an educational field visit to


‘Government higher Secondary Blind and Deafmute school, Mathpurena, Raipur. for B.Sc.
nursing IIIrd year students, Raipur and B.Sc. nursing III year students , Raigarh which was
arranged on 08.02.014, Saturday ’.Two M.Sc. nursing students Ms.P.S.Shruti and Ms.
Pushpa thakur, organized for the visit under the supervision of the faculty of the college.
OBJECTIVES OF VISIT-

 To explore out the physical setup of the institute.


 To find out the organizational structure of institute.
 To review the academic activities of school.
 To enumerate the facilities provided to the students by the school.

INTRODUCTION OF VISIT-

We reached the government school of blind and deafmute on 08/02/2014, at 8am.

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS

The objectives of the institute broadly cover three activities viz. educational training,
provision of physical facilities and vocational opportunities to the blind students. We all
were greeted by the Vice Principal of the school Mr Prakash Kumar, in-charge on duty. He
explained about NAB, its history, set-up, activities, contributions and future plans. He gave
us the orientation of the school and introduced us to their faculties and students in their
respective classes. Where the interaction took place immensely.

SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Government higher Secondary Blind and Deafmute school is located near Mathpurena,
Raipur. Affiliation is through Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, a grounded
government institute. Which is supported by a Supported by National association of Blind.
Institute aim is to provide welfare and fight for the rights of blind children. This institution is
achiving its zenith from past few years in the state Chhattisgarh.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

The program strats from nursery to 12th standard. The course is affiliated from C.G.Board.
they develop the skills of the students by providing various technical programs. Daily
Schedule of the institute is from 8am to 12pm higher secondary school and 1pm to 5pm
primary and secondary school.

BROAD ACTIVITIES OF THE INSTITUTE


1. To provide physical facilities to the blind girl and boys students.
2. To set up vocational training to the blinds.
3. To facilitate self help for employ their facilities and man power development in the
blinds.
4. Financial support for education, self-employment, medical treatment, and social
rehabilitation
5. Sponsorships for Computer Education, Sports and Excursions
6. Short-term Training Programs
7. Life Skills Development Program
8. Training in Craft and enhancing Culinary Skills
9. Medical Camps and Health-Care Programs
10.Talent Competitions
11.Personality Development Programs
12.Marketing Skills Training Programs.

REPORT OF THE DAY-

09.02.014 at 7.30 am : Departure from the college

8 am : Reached ‘Government School of Blind ’. Welcome

and introduction by the Vice Principal of the school Mr Prakash


Kumar, in-charge on duty. He explained about NAB, its history,
set-up, activities, contributions and future plans. Also described
the schedule of the school with education board.

8.45 am : orientation of the institute. The school has 2 important department

1. Blind.

2. Dum and Deaf.

Orientation to the living area of the blind students and


doubts of students were cleared by the warden and other
staff.

9am : Orientation to the computer lab of blind students.

9.15am -10am : Orientation to the music class. The students are having 1hour of
music classes everyday. Which was from 11am to 12pm. On
saturday the time of the classes is from 10am.
10-11am : The students of government college of nursing visited and greeted
all the student and conversed with the student of blind and deaf.
The students of blind and deaf was very friendly and happy to meet
all. They told what are there courses, how they learn, how they
converse with each other, how they communicate and understand
the ideas etc.

11am -12pm

 The teachers of the school gather all the students of their school and they were
assembled in uniform manner which was incredible in nature.
 Chhatisgarhi Skit was presented by the government college of nursing, Raigarh.
 Song was presented by government college of nursing, Raipur. ‘tare zameen par’.
 Song presented by blind students, of the government school of blind. ‘Itni Shakti
Hume Dena Data.’ Student sang the so well, they also got national prize too.

12pm : Reached back to college.

The field trip was organized by M.N. (Previous) students, Ms. P.S.Shruti
and Ms. Pushpa Thakur under the guidance of Mrs. Mamata Naik,
Demonstrator, Govt. College of Nursing, Raipur.
