ATTESTATIONS
1. Attestation of a document other than Power of Attorney
Documents such as birth and death certificates, Marriage, divorce certificates and those which are
issued from Pakistan must first be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Attestation of documents issued by any foreign authority can only be processed once
authenticated/attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country.

2. Attestation of Power of Attorney
To get a Power of Attorney notarized, please bring document with originalNational Identity Card and
Pakistani passport to the Embassy in person.
a. For foreign citizens, all documents must be attested by the relevant Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
b. For Pakistani Citizens abroad who have a valid Pakistan Passport and NICOP/CNIC the
requirements are as follow:
- Power of Attorney with copy
- Original National Identity Card (NICOP) plus copy and Pakistani passport in original plus copy
- Receipt of Fee deposited in Scotia Bank Account No.00104646451

3. Attestation of Educational Documents
All educational certificates and degrees issued from Pakistani authorities will only be attested by the
Embassy if they are attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan as well as Ministry of
Education/HEC.
It may please be noted that Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad is responsible for the
attestation of educational degrees/transcripts by the chartered universities of Pakistan. The details of
attestation/equivalence procedure are available at HEC website www.hec.gov.pk. The degree must
thereafter be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.
