BACKSTAGE

A glimpse of you (a flashback memory)
Hello? Is anyone there? It was dark and you can just see the reflection of light coming
from the window.
There’s a powerful force that bit inside of her when that moment happens. She can’t
barely move as her feet glued to its place, she trembled as she felt the heat rising up in her body
and a sweat forming on her forehead. As if on cue, she entered the stage while shaking her hand
as if she knew what will going to happen next.
As she slowly approaches, she knows nothing would be the same; she just stared on her
feet without looking at them. She felt that her blood run through her veins and became nervous.
But what comes next is what she didn’t expect. Hearing the sound of thousands of people
roaring and cheering for her made her feel alive again. And slowly, she raised her head up and
takes a deep breath.
And that precise moment, she told herself,” This is the moment, this is my chance to
show what I’ve got”.
A minute passed by, she was done performing her own song and got shocked because
many people cried out loud and rise to their feet; clapping their hands while cheering. For the
first time in her life, she felt the happiness she needed the most and felt like the thorns inside of
her were gone.
As she went backstage, she didn’t knew what to feel because of what she saw, her family
and her friends who abandoned her a long time ago was there supporting her. She thought that
having a physical disability will destroy everything but God is really amazing because she had a
gifted and powerful voice which made her unique despite of her physical condition.
She believed that in life, there’s always a reason; a moment of fear, a moment of sadness,
a moment of hesitation and a moment to be thankful.
And with that this ends my journey.
