Usa estos conectores para añadir información.

👉 AS WELL AS
I’ve travelled to many countries in Europe as well as South America.
That restaurant serves Japanese food as well as tapas.

👉 BESIDES (apart from)


I have no other family besides my parents.
I didn’t have lunch because I wasn’t hungry. Besides, there wasn’t
any food in the fridge.

👉 FURTHERMORE
¡Una de las favoritas de los examinadores! Se suele usar al
principio de la frase seguido de coma. Ten en cuenta que es
bastante formal.
Cycling to work is quicker than driving. Furthermore, it’s a lot
cheaper and is better exercise.

Reason
Cuando tengas que explicar el motivo de algo, no vas a
conformarte con escribir ‘because’, ¿verdad? Mira estos conectores
más avanzados:

👉 DUE TO
The flight was delayed due to weather conditions.

👉 OWING TO
The concert was cancelled owing to lack of interest.

👉 SINCE
I didn’t go to the party since I wasn’t invited.

👉 IN CASE
Wear a seatbelt in case you crash.
Take these glasses to class in case you fall asleep.
Condition
Y, ¿qué me dices de cuando hay una condición? No pretenderás
impresionar a nadie usando ‘IF’, ¿verdad?
¿Qué podemos usar que suene un poco más sofisticado? Mira
estos conectores:

👉 AS LONG AS

You can stay at my house tonight as long as you are gone before I
wake up.

You can take me to a restaurant as long as you pay.

👉 PROVIDED

You will receive a pay rise provided (that) you meet your targets.

Y la forma negativa: 👉 UNLESS

You will not get a pay rise unless you meet your targets.
You are not having dessert unless you eat your broccoli.

Contrast
Estos conectores te vendrán como anillo al dedo cuando necesites
expresar una idea o hecho que contrasta con lo que acabas de
mencionar.

👉 ALTHOUGH
Although it was sunny, it was very cold.

👉 EVEN THOUGH
Es igual que ‘although’, pero más formal.

I’ll be there, even though I may be slightly late.

👉 DESPITE
Despite the heavy rain, we enjoyed our picnic.
We went to class, despite being hungover.
CORRECT She passed the exam despite the fact that she hadn’t
studied.

CORRECT She passed the exam despite not having studied.
