CELTA TP LESSON PLAN

NAME Svetlana WEEK 1 2 3 4 DAY 1 2 3 4 5 LENGTH 60 min

LEVEL Upper-Intermediate DATE 17.11.15 TP # 2

TOPIC: Grammatical structure should have/if only/I wish LESSON FOCUS: Grammar

Main aims:

By the end of the lesson, the students will be better able to understand the structure should have/if only/I wish.
To enable students to understand and use orally the following lexical items: patterned, trainers, high heels, smart, casual, baggy, tight-
fitting, scruffy.

Subsidiary aims:

To check their grammar and vocabulary during the learning process.

PERSONAL AIMS: (refer to your previous TP Tutor's feedback sheet: 'Areas to work on')

To prepare appropriate tasks for testing.

CLASS PROFILE:
The group consists of 12 students, male and female, aged 27 to 60. It is a mixed ability monolingual group. The strongest students are
Denis and Nicolai, the weakest are Tatiana and Ivan. All students are familiar with the communicative approach. Mostly they study
English to use it while travelling but some of them have job-related motivation. In general, they are positive, friendly and sociable.
The older students are not as fluent as younger ones, but it doesn’t prevent them from participating in all the activities.

ASSUMPTIONS: (what language do you expect students to know that you are not planning to teach? What language items have students looked
at in previous classes that are relevant to your aims? Students' interest/general knowledge in relation to the material/context you will be using?)

Students will not be familiar with some words, so there will be a necessity to teach blocking vocabulary.
They like role-plays, so they will be involved and motivated.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMRNT:
