Census of India 2011: Kerala Provisional Figures at A Glance

Kerala's population as of the 2011 census was 3,33,87,677 with a growth of 15% from 2001-2011. The population is divided between 1,74,55,506 in rural areas and 1,59,32,171 in urban areas. Literacy rates increased 15% over the same period to 2,82,34,227. Child population between 0-6 years was 33,22,247. The largest municipal corporations by population were Thiruvananthapuram with 7,52,490 people, Kollam with 3,49,033, Kochi with 6,01,574, and Thrissur with 3,15,596 people.
