Islam is a peace Religion

Good morning ladies and gentleman,

On this beautiful occasion, I want to give a speech about Islam.


Many people still ask why Islam is a peace Religion.

Here we will first discuss the notion of Religion. In Oxford dictionary is a belief in control
beyond human power.

Then what is Islam?

Islam is taken from Arabic which has several kinds of meanings, including surrender,
congratulation, obedience, peace, improvement.

Then why Islam is a peace Religion?

In the hadith, it is clear that a Muslim who is by his side feels safe. And Islam is a religion that
teaches softness and non-violence. The attitude of peace is only directed against fellow
Muslims, but also to enemies who if they tend to peace, then the Muslims are commanded to
welcome him peacefully not only for themselves, but also for others.

Allah SWT said:

" َ‫ّٰللاِ ث ُ َّم اَ ْب ِل ْغهُ َمأ ْ َمنَهٗ ۗ ذلِكَ ِبا َ نَّ ُه ْم قَ ْو ٌم ََّّل يَ ْع َل ُم ْون‬ َ ‫" َواِ ْن ا َ َحد ٌ ِمنَ ْال ُم ْش ِر ِكيْنَ ا ْست َ َج‬
ّٰ ‫اركَ فَا َ ِج ْرهُ َحتّٰى يَ ْس َم َع ك َََل َم‬

“A Muslim is a person who is able to guarantee the safety of other Muslims from the actions of
his hands and his tongue" [Published by Al Bukhory]

In the hadith, it is clear that a Muslim who is on his side feels safe. And Islam is a religion that
teaches softness and non-violence. The attitude of peace is not only directed against fellow
Muslims, but also to enemies who if they tend to peace, then the Muslims are commanded to
welcome him peacefully not only for themselves, but also for others.
Allah SWT said:

" َ‫ّٰللاِ ث ُ َّم اَ ْب ِل ْغهُ َمأ ْ َمنَهٗ ۗ ذلِكَ بِا َ نَّ ُه ْم قَ ْو ٌم ََّّل يَ ْع َل ُم ْون‬ َ ‫” َواِ ْن ا َ َحد ٌ ِمنَ ْال ُم ْش ِر ِكيْنَ ا ْست َ َج‬
ّٰ ‫اركَ فَا َ ِج ْرهُ َحتّٰى يَ ْس َم َع ك َََل َم‬

“And if among the polytheists there is someone who asks for your protection, protect it so that he
can hear the word of God, then take him to a place that is safe for him. (Thus) because they are
those who do not know."

(Sura At-Tawbah 9: Verse 6)

So, that's how Islam teaches it peacefully. It may be clear that the compilation of the Prophet
(PBUH) brought infidels who asked to protect him.
