Powders are highly used in color cosmetics.
Especially, loose powder, pressed powder, two-way compact product
and point makeup products are made of powders
that also have a primary roll in skincover (ex. concealer, blemish balm.)
Pigments are typically used in cosmetics which are divided into
three groups, extender pigments, inorganic pigments and organic
pigments.
These pigments could give you different textures depending on the
process or the synthesis of ores.
They don’t wear well on the skin and incompatible in formula if each
pigment is used directly without any treatment so various substances
have to be treated on the surface of the pigments to overcome these
shortcomings.

Having a long-lasting product is a very important factor in cosmetics.
Modern people in general who have a lot of leisure and sports activity for
Maintaining health protect their skin through makeup because they are
growing more and more interested in their health.
In these outdoor activities, pigment which has hydrophilic or lipophilic
surface structure generally must be modified to repelled water and oil
for makeup to remain a long time on the skin.
Furthermore, a pigment which surface is surrounded hydrophilic
Molecules used with silicone oil or ester oil can not make
a homogeneous finished product and stability is also decreased.
These problems can be solved by the pigment’s surface treated with
silicone oil, fatty acid and metalic soap to increase compatibility with oil.

Water Repellency
Test method
Mix 250ml of water and 0.5g of powder.
Boil the solution up to 92℃.
Measure the powder is lasting time without
deposition or cloudness after coming to a boil.

It is a high molecular silicone particulate which has an excellent
lubricating characteristic and has the lowest specific gravity among raw
powder materials used for cosmetics.
Problems in cosmetic application
Low compactibility due to its elasticity in pressed powder products.
Swelling and adhering by oils, the particulate’s state of dispersion could
be brokendown and products could be modified.
Solution
Combine two different raw materials by forming a shell using inorganic
pigments, we can improve dispersibility and compactibility of silicone
elastic powder.

powder materials used for cosmetics. It provides a soft and elastic
