Scene 1: ANNA AND ELSA

Character Description:
Impulsive in decision making… youth… vibrant energy. Smitten with Hans. Defiance in standing
up to Elsa. Lack of understanding as to why the sisters have been separated.

ELSA
Marriage? I’m sorry I’m confused.

ANNA
Well, we haven’t worked out all the details ourselves. We’ll need a few days to plan the
ceremony. Of course we’ll have soup, and roast, and ice cream and then… wait! Would we live
here?

ELSA
Here?

ANNA
We can invite all twelve of your brothers to stay with us!

ELSA
Wait. Slow down. No one’s brothers are staying here. No one is getting married.

ANNA
Wait, what?

ELSA
You can’t marry a man you just met.

ANNA
You can if it’s true love.

ANNA

ELSA
I’m sorry, Anna. You asked for my blessing, but my answer is no. The party is over. Close the

ANNA
What? Elsa, no!

(ANNA grabs Elsa’s hand pulling her glove off)

ELSA

ANNA
Elsa, please. Please! I can’t live like this anymore.

ELSA
Then leave.

ANNA
Leave? What did I ever do to you?

ELSA
Enough, Anna.

No. Why? Why do you shut me out? Why do you shut the world out? What are you so afraid
of?

ELSA
I said enough!

(Ice shoots from ELSA’s hand.)

SCENE 2: ANNA AND HANS

Scene Description:
Scene takes place during the course of the Coronation Ball; the initial interaction between Hans
and Anna. Hans should appear genuine and youthful… charming to Anna

Script:
HANS
(Noticing the streak in her hair)

Hey, what’s this?

ANNA
I was born with it. Although I dreamt I was kissed by a troll.

HANS
I like it.

(They smile at one another)

ANNA
Okay, wait -- so you have how many brothers?

HANS
Twelve older brothers! Three of them pretended I was invisible. Literally. For two years. But,
that’s what brothers do.

ANNA
And sisters. Elsa and I were really close when we were little. But then, one day she just shut
me out and I never knew why.

HANS
(Taking her hand)

I would never shut you out.

ANNA
Okay, can I just say something crazy?

HANS
I love crazy.

Scene Description:
Scene takes place in the ‘Crystal Palace’ of Elsa’s creation. Anna has traveled to find Elsa so she
can repair what has happened to the kingdom of Arendelle

Character Description:
Sees her sister in a whole new way. Does not understand why Elsa is shutting her out. Shows a
defiance to her elder sister.

Script:

ANNA
Elsa? You look so different. It’s a good different. And this place is amazing.

ELSA
Thank you. I never knew what I was capable of.

ANNA
I’m so sorry about what happened. If I’d known …

ELSA
No, it’s okay. You don’t have to apologize. It’s so wonderful to see you. But you should
probably go. Please.

ANNA
But I just got here.

ELSA
You belong down in Arendelle.

ANNA
So do you.

ELSA
No, I belong here. Alone. Where I can be who I am without hurting anybody.

ANNA
Actually, about that…

Scene Description:
Anna is freezing to death having been accidentally struck by her sister, Elsa.

Script:
HANS
What happened?

ANNA
Elsa struck me with her powers

HANS
You said she would never hurt you.

ANNA
I was wrong. Elsa froze my heart and only an act of true love can save me.

HANS
A true loves kiss.

ANNA
Yes.

(He bends down, about to kiss her. Suddenly he stops.)

HANS
Oh, Anna. If only there was someone out there who loved you.

ANNA
What? You said you did.

HANS
As thirteenth in a line in my own kingdom, I didn’t stand a chance. I knew I’d have to marry
into the throne somewhere.

ANNA
What are you talking about?

As heir, Elsa was preferable. But no one was getting anywhere with her. But you? You were so
desperate for love that you were willing to marry me, just like that. I figured after we married,
I’d have to stage a little accident.

ANNA
Hans. No, stop.

HANS
But then she doomed herself and you went after her. Now we’ve captured her and she’s locked
away in the dungeon. All that’s left to do is kill Elsa and bring back summer.

ANNA
(Gaining strength, but still weak)

You’re no match for Elsa.

HANS
No you’re no match for Elsa. I on the other hand, am the hero who is going to save Arendelle
from destruction.

ANNA
You won’t get away with this.

HANS
Oh, I already have.
