RE: Application for Legal Assistant

Dear Atty. Puno,

I am writing to you to express my intention to join the Legal Services Division of the Climate
Change Commission (CCC) as a legal assistant. This employment is ideal for my career
interests in law and I am confident I can contribute to your agency.

I am aware that CCC is the lead policy-making body for climate change and I wish to take
part in the country’s collective action to address its adverse impacts. As a law student and
Certified Public Accountant, I have gained strong analytical and critical thinking skills
through my work experience in Sycip Gorres, Velayo & Company (SGV&Co.) and
internship at the Public Attorney’s Office in Manila. In addition to my academic training in
law school, my involvement in the San Beda Bar Operations has allowed me to develop
strong interpersonal skills.

I worked as a tax associate at SGV&Co. and my responsibilities include accurately reporting


outcomes of meetings while identifying tasks and activities that require follow-up with the
client or consultant. Moreover, my internship as paralegal in PAO-Manila allowed me to
apply my legal knowledge in a real court setting. I drafted position papers and pleadings
which honed my legal writing skills and communication. I am a serious, hardworking,
detail-oriented and reliable individual. I am also an efficient multi-tasker and capable of
meeting deadlines. My motivations include learning new things and the challenge of
meeting key objectives.

I understand that you will receive a large number of applications for employment. I do,
however, believe that my motivation, commitment and experience will allow me to fit in
your work environment and immediately start supporting the needs of your agency. I
