Youth empowerment is a must for every generation in history. Our parents and
those before them acted in their youth to harness the resources and
technology of their time to become empowered and thus make a difference in
the life of the nation. Kakabsat ken gagayyem, naimbag nga bigat.
Today we celebrate the Linggo ng Kabataang Sirib and we, as parents and as
officials of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, would like to remind our
young people that we are here to support you in every endeavors you take.
I started my public service as a Sanggunian ng Kabataan Chairman of San
Nicolas and from then on I never stop believing that the youth can indeed be a
force to reckon with, being the largest sector of Philippine society, with hardly
any vested interest to protect, with time on their side, and with talent and
treasure to develop and grow. When fully mobilized, enlightened, motivated,
and inspired, the youth sector is the single most formidable block of citizens
that can change society.
I admire the projects that our former board member and now governor, Gov.
Matthew Marcos Manotoc started. The SIRIB Academic Scholars, Sirib
Athletic Scholars and the Special Program for the Employment of Students.
These are just some of the projects and soon there will be a lot more. As the
chairman of the Municipality of ____________________. My town will be
ensure of having such programs for the youth as well.
Annakko, adu iti oportunidad nga para kenyayo. Sa pay kuma ta maiganed yu
iti pinagbas basa yu tapnon dakayon tu iti sumukat kenyami. Biag ti Ilocos
Norte.
