Linear Equations Video Project

The document provides directions for a group video project on linear equations. Students will work in groups of 2-3 to create a 7-10 minute video explaining key aspects of linear equations. The video must introduce the group, define linear equations, explain the components of linear equations like slope and y-intercept over 5-7 minutes, and conclude by discussing how linear equations apply to daily life. All group members must participate in the video's creation and presentation.

Linear Equations Video Project

Directions:
You are to work with a group of 2 or 3 students (and no more). Using the cameras
provided in the classroom or the video recording apps in your Chromebooks, you are
to create a 7 to 10-minute video on this Unit of Linear Equations. The video can be a
slide to slide commentary on a Power Point presentation or filming your selves
explaining linear Equations. Be creative. The Video can be a story line, a lesson, or
even a comedy (of course being appropriate humor). All students in the group need to
participate (meaning everyone needs to be in the video; not just recording and editing
as participation). Please share contact information and that all students in the group
play a role in the project.
Requirements
Introduction- 1 minute
- In under one minute please introduce yourselves and little bit about what you all
will talk about.
- Please have a Title prepared in the beginning of the video (can not just Linear
Equations 😊)
What are Linear Equations?- 1 minute
- After Introductions, explain the formal definition of Linear Equations
- Then briefly explain in your own words what are Linear Equations
- Provide a real world example of what Linear Equations are
Linear Equations components-5-7 minutes
In which ever you may choose, the following must be included in the rest of the video
- Know what a linear equation looks like
- Explaining how to draw linear equations on a graph
- The three different types of linear equation forms
- What is considered the slope and how to use it
- What is considered the y-intercept and why it is important
Conclusion-1 minute
- Wrap it all up with what you have learned and how Linear Equations can be useful
in our daily lives
