Conceptual Framework Input Process Output

This document outlines the conceptual framework and research design for a study on K-sweets, a sweets company. The study will use a survey questionnaire to determine (1) if K-sweets' products meet consumer expectations for affordability, convenience, and taste, and (2) if K-sweets is capable of tapping into demand for sweets despite competition from fast food giants. The survey will be distributed to students at Pamantasan ng Cabuyao. The data will be analyzed using weighted mean, average weighted mean, and a Likert scale to identify any gaps, such as availability of suppliers or unpredictable price changes.

Theoretical framework
Research design
Over the course of this study the researchers will use descriptive research design.

Descriptive research design is a method that involves observing and describing the behavior of a

subject in its natural way (Shuttleworth, 2008). This kind of research design is appropriate for

researches that will survey questionnaire as the research instrument. It will help the researchers

better in answering and providing such information necessary to answer the stated problems of the
study. Therefore, the research involved the gathering of data through survey and will use of

statistical formula in order to infer and describe the gathered information.

The study will be conducted at Pamantasan ng Cabuyao. The researchers will present a

letter of request to the registrar in order to have the total number of students in the university.

Through random sampling the researchers will pick its respondents.

Knowledge gap
This study will make use of weighted mean and average weighted mean. Weighted mean

will be used to calculate each component from each number on the survey questionnaire and

later on will be used in calculating the average weighted mean.

On the other hand, the average weighted mean will be used to calculate the overall

responses in each number of question. The average that the researchers got will have

corresponding level on the scale that was used.

The mentioned statistical treatment will be used by the researchers to come up in the

desired result. Close-ended questions best suites the statistical treatment that will be used.

Moreover, the researchers will also make use of likert scale for the interpretation of the

computed data. Through this statistical tools the researchers will find out and identify the gap of

the study.

Some of the initial gaps that can be infer on the study are the availability of the supplier

of squash and the unpredictable change on its price. Furthermore, the external environment

which can be a treat to the research, especially the people who are not eating squash. How they

can be convinced by this research to taste and buy the product. Lastly, is the materials that will
be used to manufacture the product, like machines in order to minimize labor cost and efficiently

produce the product to respond to consumer’s demand.
