Today is Lacrosse

- does anyone know where lacrosse started?


- native american game; was used as training for warriors

- they did not use any padding like we do, and it was a viciously competitive
game
- we can be competitive when we play, but we cannot be vicious!

Assessment
Different movement relay race: 5 minutes

- Divide class into 4 teams


Observation
- Students must (one team member at a time) cross the length of the gym, plank for 10 seconds,
then return to their team.
- Students must go one at a time and be completely back before the nest member can go
- Each consecutive team member may not cross the gym in the same way as a previous
member
- Can run, crawl, bear walk, skip, crabwalk army crawl etc)

Activity: 5-10 minutes

- have students pair up and practice throwing and catching the ball with the lacrosse
sticks

Activity: 15 minutes

- lacrosse game Observation


- divide class into two teams
- Will play one large game, subbing in players every 3-5 minutes
- Competition is encouraged
- rough physical contact will result in penalty (30 seconds in the penalty box)
- you must score from outside the crease
